According to most of the students studying there, both the colleges have average reviews. Though if compared IIITM Gwalior is considered better than IIIT Lucknow. As IIITM Gwalior was established at the same time when IIT Hyderabad and Bangalore were established, they have passed out many batches of students, but still have average placements below 10 LPA.

If we talk about IIT Hyderabad then it has also passed out many batches, but the average packages here are of more than 20 lakhs. IIITB has passed out several Btech + Mtech batches offering 17 to 18 LPA as average salary package.

IIT lucknow unlike the others mentioned is not that good or worth it, as it is a newer establishment, placements by significant companies are less. Try for old NITs, as they will get you better and higher salary packages.

Among the above three institutes, IIIT Gwalior is the best choice, considering the fact that it is the oldest IIIT and offers excellent placement and academic facilities. The preference order of choice among the institutes is given below.

IIIT Gwalior > IIIT Jabalpur > IIIT Lucknow

• The cut-off for admission to IIIT Gwalior is a validation of the fact that it is the best choice. It has its infrastructure spread across a 100-acre campus, being the oldest IIIT and maintaining its standard of placement and academics.
• Jabalpur has a 260-acre campus. In terms of placement and infrastructure, it comes just after IIIT Gwalior. But in terms of research, IIIT Jabalpur is ahead of the other two.
• IIIT Lucknow has a 50-acre campus and is mostly under construction, and is just 2 batches old. It is growing with time and needs to gain fame eventually. IIIT Lucknow has good placement, even in the first pass-out batch. It would be an excellent choice in the future if the records in placement are retained.

Therefore, the above order is the choice of preference a candidate will find relevant. No candidate should be misguided just by recent placement records and statistics.

IIIT Lucknow has shifted permanently to its fresh campus on the outskirts of the city in the 2019 batch and the students are immensely delighted to be spending their time on campus with all the necessary amenities and facilities onboard. IIIT Lucknow was mentored by IIIT Allahabad since its inception in 2015.

It is one of the top nationally recognized engineering institutes in the state. The new campus location is quite a fancy one and is very peaceful too.

Don’t worry about the placements as they will not be affected in any way after shifting from Allahabad to Lucknow. If anything, it is going to have a positive impact on the recruitment procedures since the top MNCs and recruiting firms are pretty happy and impressed with the top-class facilities and technological advancements at IIIT Lucknow campus. They make sure to offer the students ample practical exposure along with bookish knowledge while their stay on campus to make them ready for the industry.

Some of my friends from IIIT Lucknow have said their hostels are all about the newly built, grand and very well equipped and built.

Hostels are large, modern, full of natural light and air.They have good quality furniture, are well built, fully furnished including beds, table, chair and Almirah.

Total hygiene is ensured of each part of the hostel premises. Washrooms are cleaned at least twice everyday. Kitchen and hostel rooms are also cleaned upon permission of the hostels residing inside those rooms.

The newly built infrastructure is the latest, and beautiful. Lecture theatres and labs have state of the art facilities. Clean drinking water is available 24/7 along with Wi-Fi and electricity. A fully equipped clinic is present having at least one residential nurse along with a Visiting doctor. A Warden, security guard and other caretakers are present all time inside the hostel to ensure your security. You may approach the warden at any time if you have a problem with something

A fully functional mess with a capacity of 200 people at a time is present in the hostel. It serves meals 4 times a day. A committee is present that is responsible for maintaining the quality, taste, variety and hygiene of the served food.Wi-Fi and LAN connections are present at every corner of the hostel.

An indoor common area for gatherings, carrom, chess, board games and outside, 2 badminton courts are present.You may avail the laundry service or you can opt to wash your clothes by automatic washing machines present in the hostel itself.The furniture and lifts are physically handicapped friendly. Newspapers are provided daily. There is a Tata sky subscription to all channels. The hostels do not discriminate among students.

Having friends in both the colleges, I might be able to share a bit of information about both of them. Though my major focus will be on IIIT Guwahati, because being a student there, I had my fair share of experiences.

Nevertheless, let us discuss some of the facts -

• The atmosphere is quite relaxing.
• The distance is quite far from the main city, which is about 25 kilometers. But in terms of the campus distance from the airport, it is a fine 4 kilometers. 
• The population comprises people from UP, Hyderabad, and Bihar. If you are from the North, you would notice this.
• The coding culture is great, in my opinion. Much better than what the latest IIITs have to offer.
• The director of the college has the potential to lift it to the best position in the country. 
• Even though the campus is placed at quite a distance from the main city, you won't be short of any facilities.
• The hostel rooms are nice, if you are lucky, you might get a room with a washroom attached to it.
• The overall curriculum is excellent.
• Cricket and football fields are also available.

As far as IIIT Lucknow is concerned, I might not have too much to talk about. But then you can always make a comparison based on what you are looking for in a college which can be literally anything. Maybe try to put your question a little more precisely so that we can answer them accordingly.

Go for the one which is nearer. Although, IIIT Lucknow is a fair enough option to consider for chemical engineering. All the above-mentioned colleges are national-level recognized colleges.

• The reason why IIIT Lucknow is slightly preferred over the others is because of its campus which is ever-growing and developing. 
• The recruiters are always eyeing the campus and offering packages as high as 10 LPA, which makes it quite a welcome option for all the applicants and aspiring candidates.
• Moreover, the campus will help you to focus on extra-curricular and other curricular activities too apart from academics, thus paying a lot of attention to the overall growth of the personality holistically and not just scoring good grades. 
• The multiple competitions and championships happening are always intended to prepare the students holistically.

You can go for HBTI Kanpur only when you have no other options of IITs or NITs. It is a state-level college and not as reputable as the others.

Although IIIT Lucknow is an excellent institute in terms of placement and coding culture, IIIT Guwahati is not very far from the standards of IIIT Lucknow. There are several negative reviews about IIIT Guwahati over the internet and it is being falsely treated as inferior.

• Guwahati has very pleasant weather throughout the year, except for the humid month of August. Lucknow has an extreme type climate and so, this pleasance is lacking there. There is no problem of severe mosquitoes in Guwahati, but spiders and lights insects are often found.
• It is true that IIIT Lucknow has excellent coding culture inside its campus, with participation in several competitions. But, there are false facts about IIIT Guwahati that it has no such culture, and these are purely misleading. 
• There are some excellent professors in IIIT Guwahati. Going into some personal preferences by students, lecturers from some professors namely Soumi ma’am (CSE), Sumit sir (CSE), Mansoor sir (ECE), Arjun sir (Maths), etc are quite interesting. 
• The attendance rule of 75-85% is not very strict to be followed in IIIT Guwahati.
• Classrooms and laboratories in the academic building are well equipped with all necessary facilities and equipment and are air-conditioned too. Mostly, students are given single occupancy rooms, with attached toilets, which may be delayed due to the construction of a new hostel. 
• Mess quality is a place of personal opinion and depends upon the type of food one likes. IIIT Guwahati serves both veg and non-veg food, in North and South-Indian cuisines. There is a little issue with the hygiene of the mess in IIIT Guwahati, which is usually the case in all hostels. 
• Placements alone can never be the means of judgment for a batch of students, considering the fact that past records don’t matter that much in the future.

Therefore, both the institutes are good, with the presence of all necessary facilities and offerings. Reviewing an institute should not be manipulative and misleading.
