Which is better, IT in NIT Puducherry or CSE in NIT Durgapur?
It is best to choose NIT Durgapur over NIT Puducherry. Here are some of the reasons why.
- NIT Durgapur was established long before NIT Puducherry came into existence, making it older than the latter.
- The faculty of NIT Durgapur is well-experienced and supportive.

NIT Puducherry is very new compared to College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). Let me share some points which might help you decide.

- The syllabus is more or less similar in both colleges.
- CEG has a more competitive student crowd which eventually helps students to boost their morale.
- Due to its years of educational experience, CEG definitely has a better placement record than NIT Puducherry.

Currently, the median CTC offered at the institute is 6 LPA.
NIT, Puducherry is a quiet place with no disturbance and a great environment to focus on your studies and self-growth. The faculties are great mentors who afford to motivate you internally. If you are an academic scholar and you bagged a chance to study at NIT Puducherry, don’t miss it.
How are the internet facilities at NIT Puducherry?
My brother used to be a student of NIT Puducherry. According to him, the internet speed easily reaches the top of 40 Mbps to 50 Mbps, which is by far the best service provided to students. Other than that, the LAN connections are to be mounted very soon at the institute body so as to help enhance the connectivity speed over time.
The wifi speed once recorded reached almost around 1.1 Gbps in the laboratory, which is the maximum my brother and his friends witnessed.
Which should I go with: College of Engineering, Guindy or NIT Puducherry?
One of my friends studied at College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). According to him, it is a good institution, CSE being the highlighted department. Let me share the details I got to know from him.
- CSE students are very much dedicated to their projects and assignments.
- The faculty members are also very cooperative and highly experienced in their respective fields.
- CSE always had and maintained a good placement record.
- The campus itself is very huge, providing an appropriate place for students to study.
- There are active clubs and international techno-management Fest 'Kurukshetra' and cultural fest 'Techofes'.
- They also have a club for quizzes, Industrial quality maintenance, social activities, photography, college magazine, all of which are active throughout the year.

What is it like to attend NIT Puducherry?
One of my friends studied at NIT Puducherry. According to him, when he graduated from NIT Puducherry, the college was not very much developed.
During his time there was poor teaching staff with minimum facilities. He understood that depending on the college and its faculty will get him nowhere. So he started working hard himself.
But now the institute has come a long way from there. It has now a fully functional permanent campus. Many reputed companies visit during placement drives. Though the salary packages offered may not satisfy an engineering graduate, it has still offered the best it can.

Is there a gym in NIT Puducherry?
I have a few friends from NIT Pondicherry and according to them, there is a gym at NIT Puducherry. Even though it's not a very advanced one, you can still manage to use it just to keep yourself fit. The gym is quite basic with few pieces of equipment and not very spacious. Students mainly use this place for stretching or yoga activities.
