Which college is better to join, VMMC or AIIMS Bhopal, comparing the faculty, hostel facilities, infrastructures, room facility, etc.?
Both VMMC and AIIMS Bhopal are well-respected institutions in India and both have strong programs in medicine. In terms of faculty, both institutions have highly qualified and experienced faculty members. However,
- Faculty: AIIMS Bhopal is considered to have a stronger faculty with more experienced teachers.
- Hostel: In terms of hostel facilities, VMMC has well-maintained hostels with modern amenities, while AIlMS Bhopal has older hostels that are in need of renovation. Both institutions have comfortable rooms, but AIlMS Bhopal is considered to have better-furnished rooms.
- Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, both institutions have modern and well-equipped facilities. However, AIIMS Bhopal is considered to have a more advanced infrastructure.
These points clearly hold AIIMS Bhopal higher than VMMC, but I would still suggest you go for VMMC. AIIMS Bhopal may be better in terms of hostel, faculty, and infrastructure advantages but the most important factor for choosing a college is its location. Delhi offers better opportunities in terms of salary as well as other prospects. Delhi hospitals like Safdarjung Hospital have the highest pay scale for PG residents. Being in Delhi, you can work hard and get into a better hospital or college by Delhi quota for PG.
Ultimately I feel location should be given the highest priority while choosing a college and that being said, VMMC is the best option for you. However, the best choice for you will depend on your personal preferences and goals.
How is the library and the faculty at AIIMS Bhopal?
I had the opportunity to visit AIIMS Bhopal as I was meeting a friend who called me to the library to discuss something. AIIMS Bhopal, well known for its beautiful infrastructure has a central library which has about 3 floors.
- The library in AIIMS Bhopal is beautifully designed and has attractive architecture.
- The best part was its sitting arrangement which was unique and quite comfortable
- The library was fully AIR Centralized
- The library also had computers to access e-books and other study materials.
- The library also had access to free wifi
- Clean washrooms and a drinking water facility were also available.
- The ambiance inside the library was peaceful
However, I found that the library lacked enough variety of books and should be stacked with better books. Overall, AIIMS Bhopal Library is a beautiful and peaceful place to study.
Can we get single rooms in AIIMS Bhubaneshwar and AIIMS Bhopal?
AIIMS Bhopal students are allotted a single-seater room from the second year i.e. the 3rd semester. In the first year, AIIMS Bhubaneshwar MBBS students are assigned rooms based on their gender.
Boys are assigned double-seater rooms with an attached washroom, whereas girls are assigned single-seater rooms from the first day.

Which is better, AIIMS Bhopal or MAMC?
It’s not difficult to choose one between the two as I would always give preference to MAMC over AIIMS Bhopal.
- AIIMS Bhopal was recently infamous for its lack of faculties
- AIIMS Bhopal has a poor study plan and its curriculum is poorly structured
- The AIIMS tag is not helpful at all for this branch.
Considering the above points, MAMC is the best choice for you. The faculties are highly qualified and it also delivers good quality education.
So we can say one-day AIIMS might become a prime institute but right now it doesn't look to be in a very good condition
How is AIIMS Bhopal doing as of now?
AIIMS Bhopal is a pretty decent institution.
The faculties of all departments are very dedicated, and the academics are the best among new AIIMS. The campus environment is studious. The college students perform quite well in exams like USMLE, and the college displays good results in various competitions. The hostel facility is quite good. The mess facilities are pretty decent, and single seater rooms are provided for students. Also, the hostel rooms have high speed LAN connections.
Thus, AIIMS Bhopal is doing decently well at present.
Is it true that the second generation AIIMS (Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh) are suffering from lack of faculty and hightech medical instruments for MBBS UG course?
MBBS from any AIIMS is equally good and anyone who claims otherwise has false information or hasn’t been exposed to the facilities of these peripheral AIIMS.
As for the high-tech medical instruments, UG MBBS does not require such equipment and the course is conducted mostly through clinical exposure and not research work. For this, we need enough cadavers, well-furnished labs, OTS, and well-maintained lecture theaters.
Every AIIMS provides these top-notch facilities and has excellent infrastructure that promotes a healthy academic environment. The quality of the infrastructure is further proved by the pic below
What you see here is a modular OT and a high-tech faculty that is present only in institutes of national importance because of funding from the government.
AIIMS faculty recruitment is unique and thus it’s not easy to take in just anyone as a teacher here. Moreover, the faculty shortage does not affect the quality of education.
The results of all these AIIMS and the successful doctors they have produce are a testament to their worth and credibility that is almost the same as AIIMS Delhi.
How much minimum marks are required to get either AIIMS Bhubaneswar or AIIMS Bhopal?
AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Bhopal are both really popular AIIMS being one of the top choices for MBBS in India. Both AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Bhopal have very high cutoffs for general as well as other categories. There are no minimum marks fixed as such to get into AIIMS Bhubaneshwar or AIIMS Bhopal, instead, the candidates should aim to get the set cutoff rank at the All-India level in NEET UG.

Is the academic schedule at AIIMS Bhopal hectic?
The academic schedule of an MBBS student of AIIMS Bhopal is like any other medical college. In fact, AIIMS Bhopal is slightly less rigid when it comes to academics as compared to other AIIMS.
- AIIMS Bhopal does not conduct weekly exams and continuous assignments,, unlike other medical colleges.
- The first year is relatively easy as you have no exams till December followed by mid-semesters in March, Pre Finals in June, and Finals in July.
- Anatomy Department students have to give Part Completion Tests(PCT) monthly.
- The Physiology and Biochemistry Departments hold only semester and mid-semester exams.
- AIIMS Bhopal has an all-rounded campus life with only 3 hours of lectures daily.
A typical day at AIIMS Bhopal is scheduled in this manner
- The morning Session has 2 Lectures of an hour each and a practical of 2hrs. This lasts from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Afternoon Session begins at 3 pm and you have an hour lecture followed by a practical of 2 hours that lasts till 5:00 pm.
- Saturdays are relatively light with just a lecture for 2hrs.(9 am - 11 am)
Overall, AIIMS Bhopal has a balanced campus life and isn’t very hectic.
