I got to know from one of my friends that the schedule is quite normal and the students who complain about the hectic schedule are the ones who are themselves responsible for it. The schedule is hectic or not, it depends completely on you.
Besides this, the time schedule for the college is absolutely normal. It is always recommended to try and grab as many opportunities as you can and invest your spare time in as many productive activities as you can.
One of my friends qualified for the GATE examination and achieved the required cutoff for NITIE Mumbai and got a call for their interview. He got shortlisted for Group Discussion as well as Personal Interview.
The GATE cut-off usually differs every year. The cutoff is further divided by the category as tabulated below”
Category | GATE score |

The Group discussion and Personal Interview are also the crucial stages of the final selection in NITIE.

The MBA program at NITIE is highly regarded, and it focuses on providing a practical and industry-oriented education. The program is designed to help working professionals develop management skills and leadership qualities, which can help them advance in their careers.
In fact, having work experience in the IT industry can be an advantage when it comes to pursuing an MBA at NITIE. Your experience can help you bring real-world perspectives to classroom discussions, and you can also learn from the experiences of your peers who come from diverse backgrounds.
To apply for the MBA program at NITIE, you will need to meet the eligibility criteria, which typically include a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. Additionally, you will need to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
In summary, if you have 5 years of experience in the IT industry and are interested in pursuing an MBA program, NITIE could be an excellent choice for you. With its industry-oriented curriculum and experienced faculty, NITIE can help you enhance your skills and accelerate your career growth.
Yes absolutely, people from CS & IT background do get placed in the supply chain department. My brother is a former student of NITIE and currently working as a Supply chain manager at Amazon.
As a matter of fact, if you look at the profiling of any batch, more than 60% of students are from IT background and most of the roles in NITIE are for supply chain management.
Moreover, companies are not distinct on this basis because not many students anyways have experience in the supply chain & secondly it's more based on knowledge you possess and how you present yourself on the day of the interview.
And most importantly, work experience is just one element of your overall profile. There are other elements like internships, Weekend projects, College grades, certifications completed and other achievements etc.

The PGDIE programs by NITIE Mumbai are offered to candidates based on the score obtained in the GATE Examination.
The final steps of the admission process include a Group discussion round and a personal interview round. The students are granted admission based on their GATE score, Group discussion round, and personal interview.
The eligibility criteria for the PGDIE course at the institute are as follows:
If you have a valid GATE score along with the mentioned details, then surely you would be eligible for admission into the PGDIE courses at NITIE Mumbai.
Having a few friends who graduated from NITIE, I think I can answer this question.
If you compare NITIE's fee structure among the top b schools of the country, it is still less than most of the institutes apart from the Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi.
At the same time, the placements are quite good at NITIE. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 20 LPA. So I would not claim that NITIE has the best Return On Investment (ROI) but it surely has a better ROI than most of the b schools.
NITIE has the second-best ROI after the Faculty of Management Studies. So choose accordingly and make a wise decision.
NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering) was established under the aegis of the UNDO and ILO and now it is the center of managerial excellence.
The college is located in a very beautiful place which adds to its ideal environment and makes the campus a good place to study. This college has access to some of the largest Indian and Global companies through which they arrange guest lectures, seminars, and industrial visits.
In 2013, NITIE celebrated its golden jubilee and during this event, it integrated all the student events into one event, i.e. Avartan which is the grand celebration of NITIE's vision of being the leader of the knowledge led productivity movement.
In this event, participants from various top business schools compete in various contests. This participation helps in fostering managerial excellence by bringing students, faculty, and industry leaders onto a common platform.
Hence, Avartan has become a single platform to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application which are being used in the real world.
No, you will not be eligible for a stipend even if you have qualified CAT. It is only offered to those who have cleared GATE, UGC NET, and UGC-JRF.

One of my friends is an alumnus of NITIE who pursued the PGDMM course. Here is his take on this.
There are numerous opportunities for a student enrolled in this course to lead their career in areas other than core manufacturing.
So, you will have plenty of opportunities in fields other than manufacturing.
