According to some of my friends studying at IIM Indore, it is renowned for its management studies. It is ranked seventh in the NIRF Ranking for Management 2020.

  • IIM Indore offers various courses like PGP, IPM, PGPMX, and others.
  • The huge batch of IIM Indore does not affect the placements of the students.
  • In 2020, the placement season hit the milestone for IIM Indore for the 21st outgoing PGP batch.
  • It included 431 from PGP, 91 from IPM, and 56 PGPMX students.
  • Despite the chaos due to the pandemic, many new recruits visited the campus like Browerstack, CloudTail, FIITJEE, AB InBev, Bytedance, etc.

The placement statistics are below.

New recruiters 50+
Total No. of PPOs 121
Average CTC 18-19 LPA

In addition to the final placements, IIM Indore successfully conducted its summer placements for the first-year batch. The internships were offered in various domains by renowned MNCs. There were 160+ recruiters from automobiles, BFSI, consulting, E-commerce, FMCG, and others.

The top recruiters were Flipkart, HDFC, BCG, JP Morgan & Chase, Axis Bank, P&G, ICICI, Bank of America, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, Royal Bank of Scotland, and more. Overall, IIM Indore maintains its quality even with big batch size.

Which one should I choose, IIM Indore IPM vs NIT allahbad ?

DS
Dipesh Sharma Posted On : August 28th, 2021
IPM from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore

If your main goal is to study economics, maths and statistics then opting for IPM at IIM Indore would be a very good idea. However, the fee structure is very high. INR 4,00,000 per annum for domestic students and for international students, it is INR 6,00,000.

You will also have to study subjects which you will necessarily not like such as sociology, psychology, etc.

Another drawback is that there is no degree for IPM. You will only get a certificate from IGNOU.

In the case of NIT Allahabad, it is a reputed institute for engineering. You will be able to study subjects that meet your interests. The fees are also very less. In the placement drive of 2020, the highest package offered to the students was INR 49 LPA. Some of the top recruiters were IBM, Adobe, Accenture, Tata Steel, Capgemini, etc. The average package was INR 10.28 LPA.

Which one will be better, getting a BBA at IIM Indore or at Symbiosis?

SS
Samita Saha Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Indore (2020)

Indian Institute of Management, Indore offers an Integrated Program in Management (IPM).

This is not just a general BBA program. It is an integrated program as the name already suggests. It has a very well-organized course curriculum. The level of exposure you will be getting at IIM Indore is much better than you can find at any other institute. Speaking of Symbiosis, it does not offer as much versatility and exposure as compared to IIM Indore, there will be huge differences in their course curriculum and teaching style.

The IPM program at IIM Indore has a 3-year BBA program and a 2-year MBA program. The first three years of the IPM program are being taught separately. The faculties are very knowledgeable and supportive. The remaining two years are merged with the flagship Post-graduation program.

So, IPM from IIM Indore is definitely better than a BBA from Symbiosis.

What are the best books for IPM IIM Indore 2021?

RS
Rupesh Sharma Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Studies Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore

Various publications promise to help aspirants for IPMAT examinations with their books. In reality, these books are not worth your time. I believe that the syllabus for the IPMAT is at a similar level as that of CAT. So, it would be better for you that you buy popular books which aspirants use for the preparation of the CAT examination.

There are two sections in IPMAT - Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. To prepare for these sections, you can buy Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability by Arun Sharma. Solve the LOD 1 and LOD 2 exercise available in the book.

It must be noted that books solely cannot help to cover the entire syllabus. You can additionally sit for Mock tests, communicate with mentors for insights and analyze the previous year’s papers. This will help you to get an improved idea about the fundamental structure of the examination.

If you had to choose between IIM Indore this year, or IIM C next year, what would you choose?

SB
Seema Bhaduriya Posted On : December 12th, 2022
know quite a few things about CAT and IIMs

You should always be in the present moment. It is far better to seize this opportunity rather than pushing what you have in hand in the hope of getting something better.

Many individuals have rejected IIMK in the past, believing that they would ace the CAT with a much higher percentile and gain admission to IIM A, B, or C the following year. Many of these people ended up scoring much lower and failing to progress.

You have a desirable offer that many people would have loved to have. You, on the other hand, know yourself better than anyone else. As a matter of fact, the final decision is yours.

RG
Ritesh Garg Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) from IIM Indore (2020)

The life of a student pursuing IPM at IIM Indore can be very hectic. Over the years, IPM has evolved a lot and is attracting more and more students as the years go by.

It is a tiring course, however. There is a lot of diversity in the IPM course. It also has a Student Activity Council (SAC). Its function is to organize events for the students in various domains. It is also in charge of conducting other activities and festivals on the campus and also acts as a bridge between IPM and IIM Indore.

This council has four committees, three clubs, 12 special interest groups, and the main teams of the national-level festivals of IPM.

The three clubs of IPM are as follows.

  • IPM Activity Club: This club is in charge of organizing various activities for the students and also provides opportunities for honing their co-curricular skills. This club also aims to improve the social life of the students. It also takes steps to organize trips for the students and organizing well-earned breaks for them.
  • IPM Entrepreneurship Cell: IPM tries its best to promote entrepreneurship by facilitating a channel of resources of value. The E-cell offers opportunities for live projects and internships to enhance their experience and have an in-depth knowledge of the industry.
  • IPM Social Club: The social club of IPM called ‘AASHA’ strives to educate and provide opportunities to members of IIM Indore to give to society. In the last few years, this cell has conducted blood donation camps, workshops, evening schools, and other social service events.

The hostels are allotted to the students of IPM as per what year they are in for the first three years. The rooms are well-furnished with a television area, and indoor games like badminton and tennis. There is wifi too.

IIM Indore boasts of an enviable sports complex. There are state-of-the-art facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. The fitness instructors guide the students through their expertise through strength training, aerobics training, flexibility training, cardiovascular training, etc.

Is IIM Indore doing right by adding courses after courses like IPM, Mumbai Campus and now PGP-HRM?

SR
Swati Raj Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore

Courses like IPM and PGP-HRM are bold, outstanding, and pathbreaking. It took great hard work for the decision-makers to start these courses. However, the amount of success for these completely depends upon the intention.

The real question would be, “Why IPM? Why Mumbai Campus? And why opting for HRM course?”. If the answer to all of these questions is “Money” then whether IIM Indore is doing right or not will depend on the number of admissions, fees, and the ROI.

If the answer to your question is “for a good career”, then the success completely depends upon the faculty, facilities, and placements. Even if the intentions are considered to be good, most government bodies do not take the lead and act from the front.

It is very confusing to say if the students are too ignorant to believe what they see or if the institutions are providing incorrect information

Is there anyone who regrets joining IPM IIM Indore? Why?

KS
Kuheli Saha Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Studied MBA from IIM Indore (2020)

IPM offered by IIM Indore is a relatively new course. The lack of awareness regarding the course may have been a reason for regret for some students who joined initially. Here are some of the factors regarding the course which can be a bit concerning.

  • The course fee is too high. So, it may not be a good choice in terms of ROI.
  • It’s a long-term commitment since the course is 5 years long.
  • Although IPM students sit alongside the PGP students for placements, some companies may prefer PGP students over IPM. As companies tend to consider IPM students as freshers, the average CTC offered to IPM students is less as compared to PGP students.
  • IPM course curriculum is still experimental.

These are some of the things that students find most concerning about the IPM course.

What is the procedure to get admission to IIM Indore?

Rupam Ghose Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA from IIM Indore (2018)

First, for getting admission into any of the IIMs, you need to obtain a good score in the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) examination. Once you get a good score in the CAT, you will get calls from different IIMs to attend their Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). You will be shortlisted by the performance in the Personal Interview and your Essay. Other factors also play an important role in the overall decision such as the following.

  • Academic score in 10th
  • Academic score in 12th
  • Graduation score.

Each IIM has its own weightage for each factor. Thus, for getting in any IIMs, the performance in the CAT exam, WAT, and PI is very important.
