Is it worth going to Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad?

AB
Arun Balan Posted On : October 1st, 2020
Studied at Symbiosis Law School

SLS, Hyderabad is a relatively new institution and the third institute under Symbiosis International University. However, it has already made a name for itself amongst some of the well-known colleges for Law in India.

Although the college is situated a long distance away from the main city, the infrastructure and facilities provided are no less than those of SLS, Noida, and SLS, Hyderabad. The campus has all the necessary facilities, which include bakeries, general stores, gyms, and sports grounds, and courts.

The college also has well-equipped laboratories, auditoriums, air-conditioned classrooms, moot courts, and 24/7 medical facilities.

Admission Details

  • Taking admission to Symbiosis Law School is quite challenging. There is an online examination and also a written aptitude test followed by a personal interview and group discussion.
  • Students need to sit for the SLAT examination for LLB courses and AIAT for LLM courses. The cut-off score is 80.
  • The total intake for LLB programs is 240, and LLM is 10 with the tuition fee being 2.64 lakhs per annum and 1.84 lakhs per annum, respectively.

Course Curriculum

  • The college tries its best to provide high-quality education with guest lecturers visiting every Saturday.
  • The faculty are experienced and know how to nurture the law students properly.
  • The course curriculum is relevant and extensive, which can be exhausting for the students but ultimately provides them with full knowledge in their fields.

Placements

  • The college, still being in its growing period, has a long way to go when it comes to placement.
  • Until now, only two batches have graduated in the years 2019 and 2020, so little can be said about the placement percentage of the college.
  • However, the placement cell of the college strives hard to make sure its students get good internships and placements and works tirelessly to bring reputed companies and law firms like Tatva and KSK for recruitment.

The students, staff, and faculty of SLS, Hyderabad work hard to make their college better since it still lacks in terms of placement when compared to other law colleges. However, the students of this college attend international conferences and gain knowledge through industrial visits. The college may not have an extensive alumni network. Nevertheless, the college pass outs have all been recruited by reputed companies and law firms.
