DSCE placements for EEE are decent. Each year around 80% of students get placed. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 5.75 LPA. While the highest CTC goes up to INR 5.75 LPA. Accenture, Mercedes Benz, Infosys, etc. are some of the major recruiters for the branch.
My friends and I decided to study automobiles, but due to the restricted number of institutions that offered the course, we decided to pursue mechanical engineering and then concentrate on automobile engineering for our master's degree. Hence, we studied Mechanical Engineering at Dayananda Sagar (DSCE), and then Automobile Engineering at the same university. So I think I am therefore competent to reply.
Parametres | Automobile Engineering at DSCE |
Tuition Fees | 12 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 60% |
Highest Package | 10-12 LPA |
Average Package | 5 LPA |
The college is great simply to provide you with a degree, but it's your duty to earn it. In the last two years, very few reputed companies visited the college. Only your hard work will matter. The curriculum has been outdated until last year, but now they have updated it.
VIT Vellore is better than Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering. It has better infrastructure. VIT has an excellent placement record as well. The average CTC for the institute is INR 8.19 LPA. During 2022 VIT Vellore placements, the highest CTC offered was INR 1.2 CPA.
If you are getting the same branch at VIT and Dayanand Sagar, choose the former.
One of my friends recently graduated from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering and according to him, if you fall under the General Merit category, there is no chance of getting CSE in DSCE. For DSCE the recent cutoff for CSE is 2361.
But if you fall under other reservation categories, then there is a chance you can get a seat in the second shift in CSE. Check the recent cutoff rank for your category to know about your chances.
There is no difference between the normal shift or the second shift. The only difference is the college code. Rest all is as the normal shift. You can't change your branch if you get admission in the second shift.
If placement is your concern, then you can also go for DSATM. Because during placements, both DSCE and DSATM students are allowed to attend together in the same campus.
There is no partiality between DSCE or DSATM for placements. All are given equal opportunity.
It all depends upon your interest and future perspective. Choose Telecommunication Engineering or IEM based on your interest.
IEM is a combination of mechanical engineering, product engineering, and management studies, so if you want to gain hands-on experience in management studies and see the future perspective in the same field, then IEM is one of the best fields to pursue. Also, IEM subjects are easier compared to Telecommunication. IEM becomes more theory-oriented towards the 3rd semester.
Now regarding colleges, VTU affiliated colleges are good to pursue your higher studies and the teaching levels are the same in all the colleges. Also, the placements are quite decent in these colleges.
Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is quite a good subject to pursue at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering. My friends studying there said that around 10 companies pay a visit to the campus every individual month for as long as 6 months in a row.
Accenture, being one of the top firms, recruited more than 700 applicants while Cognizant claimed as another leading company, hired more than 500 students in the placement drive. Alongside the two, Infosys hired over 300 students.
Categories | EIE in Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering |
Course Fee | 9 lakhs |
Highest CTC | 14-16 LPA |
Average CTC | 5.1 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Accenture, Cognizant, HSBC, HCL, etc. |
There are several companies that mandate a total aggregate of at least 65% in the exam, and managing to maintain that can help you reach new heights.
This must be because of location and the accessibility to the Electronic City as the area is heavily crowded due to traffic.
Moreover, the intake in CSE at PES University EC Campus is 480, while it is 180 in DSCE. It is bad luck for those who did not make an informed choice as they might face repercussions in 2023.
Furthermore, comparing PES with Dayanand, which lies in the heart of South Bangalore and it is a favorite place. With easy access and a peaceful environment, Dayanand Sagar is more preferred among students.
Without any doubt, we all get into the dilemma when we listen to the word shift course especially for the courses like B.Tech. But the shift course has been introduced in some colleges to increase their intake capacity of students for the popular courses to give opportunities to many students.
Therefore, we can conclude that the shift course is just to expand the capacity of the students keeping in mind the university norms, rest all the things are similar to the normal CSE course. So there is nothing much to worry about.
My colleague used to stay in the My Roomie Hostel near Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering. There are many hostels near the institute but they are not comfortable. You might have to look for a PG as well. Decide only after that regarding where you'd want to stay.
However, ‘My roomie Hostel’ is an impressive place to stay because of the following:
Overall, you will enjoy being a part of the hostel atmosphere if you choose it. My colleague recommends it to everyone going to DSCE.
According to the 2021 WBJEE cutoff, the required cutoff for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology is 3434 (general). So, it will be difficult to get admission in CSE with your rank. As an alternative, you can go for IT at Heritage. It offers similar career prospects as the CSE branch.
With 4.5k rank, you can also try for KGEC EE/JGEC CSE/GCECT CSE/GCELT CSE/IEM IT/ GCETTS CSE.
At this rank in case, if you are getting a Govt. college don’t go for it as there is a very low chance of placements.
