According to the 2021 WBJEE cutoff, the required cutoff for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology is 3434 (general). So, it will be difficult to get admission in CSE with your rank. As an alternative, you can go for IT at Heritage. It offers similar career prospects as the CSE branch. 

With 4.5k rank, you can also try for KGEC EE/JGEC CSE/GCECT CSE/GCELT CSE/IEM IT/ GCETTS CSE.

At this rank in case, if you are getting a Govt. college don’t go for it as there is a very low chance of placements.

Out of these two, Dayanand Sagar is definitely a better choice because it is an autonomous institute. However, you will encounter multiple distractions on the campus and it is advisable to be cognizant and not to neglect studies.

Dayanand Sagar has a good reputation in terms of co-curricular activities. One of my friends, who got RNSIT in the first round, waited and later opted for DSCE in 2nd round.

Trust me it was one of the life-changing decisions in his life. Rest is up to you, do whatever you feel like.

A few years back, my friend had a rank of 13193 and he got Electrical and Electronics in Dayananda Sagar. So you can expect branches like EIE, EEE, ECE, TE, etc. Here are the recent cutoff trends at the institute.

You also have an option to change or upgrade your branch in the second round of counseling.

It can be very difficult to obtain the certificate for a course you left midway. If you are already in college and have recently completed the first year, then it is close to impossible to gain the certificate back. 

I have a friend who once encountered a similar situation at the institute. 

• In his case whatsoever, the administration, quite clearly, was generally demanding the full tuition fee payment granted for a period of 4 years. 
• However, due to a mutual treaty, the amount was reduced from the one demanded before. 
• The administration and the family later came to a mutual decision to get things sorted.
• It is best that you either do not intend to join the institute or if you recently have, then it is best to continue the course until the end. 
• As it is futile to let your finances go to waste if you do not eventually extract anything out of it. 

The choice of obtaining the certificate, either way, can take almost around 6 months to a year, which is outrageous in the first place. 

My cousin is currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering and his experience till now has been pretty good.

A CSE degree from Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering is definitely better than ISE from Bangalore Institute of Technology. 

Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering is better in terms of placements, fests, and overall environment. Here are some of the things that you should consider before choosing any of these two institutes. 

• PESIT is UGC, AACSB, NAAC, and AICTE recognized. DSCE is a private institute recognized by AICTE, UGC, and Grade A accredited by NAAC.
• DSCE is VTU affiliated, and PESIT is under PES University.

In conclusion, PESIT south campus is the better option if you are looking for academics. Otherwise, DSCE will be great.

My sister took her CSE degree from NIE Mysore. It seems to be the better between the two. Here's why:

• The placement rate is good. It was 97% this year, compared to DSCE's 75%. Sir MVIT matches the placement rate of NIE but the reputation of NIE is stronger in the industry.
• NIE has an excellent infrastructure as well. It has worked on its expansion into an ultra-modern design in the past 5 years and has incorporated excellent facilities for sports and academic development. 

The location of Mysore can be great to explore. Do not think that it's a small city, it has all the amenities and recreational and professional sites you'd need to work as an engineer. Apart from the 3 malls, you will discover plenty of places to explore during the 4 years of your academic life. 

My colleague used to stay in the My Roomie Hostel near Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering. There are many hostels near the institute but they are not comfortable. You might have to look for a PG as well. Decide only after that regarding where you'd want to stay.

However, ‘My roomie Hostel’ is an impressive place to stay because of the following: 

• The team is friendly and has cordial behavior. My friend’s visit was very warm and welcoming.
• The most eye-catching thing is the Community area. You can play games like- Pool Table. It has a mini gym as well. You can also engage in competitions in the zone area and organize events like birthday celebrations and festivals.
• It is clean, comfortable, with a colorful atmosphere, which is also in Bangalore.

Overall, you will enjoy being a part of the hostel atmosphere if you choose it. My colleague recommends it to everyone going to DSCE.
