What is the placement record like at Hindustan University for aerospace engineering?

RR
Raghubeer Rao Posted On : April 8th, 2021
Studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Hindustan University

One of my cousins is an alumnus at Hindustan University. Not many of his batchmates are working as Aerospace Engineers. Most of them were placed in IT companies through campus placements. The very few who are actually working in a field related to Aerospace Engineering made it there through their own efforts.

The placement report published by the university is as follows:

Academic Year

Total Number of Offers

Percentage of Placement

Number of Companies

2018-19

456

78.75%

77

2017-18

514

78.59%

50

2016-17

485

77.84%

75

In the academic year of 2018-19, for the department of aerospace engineering, 22 students registered for placement out of which 15 got placed.

A large number of software companies hire from this university. If your only concern is placement, then this might not be the best college for you because the university does not ensure 100% placement.

Which is better: SRM, HINDUSTAN, SASTRA, GITAM university?

DB
Dhruv Banerjee Posted On : September 18th, 2023
SRM Institute of Science and Technology

I am a student at SRM, so I will tell you particularly about my university.

SRM is a highly-graded university with experienced faculty, rich academics, and a good campus life. My experience of SRM has been quite pleasant up till now. You’ll learn a lot at this place, and develop excellent communication skills. You’ll be given good projects.

This university has a highly diverse population and a multidisciplinary approach to studies. It has a good reputation and a decent placement record. IT and CSE students get on-campus placements for sure. However, for Aerospace, only 1 or 2 companies visit the campus with job offers. Companies like Byjus and Jaro Education offer around 13 LPA and are open to all engineering branches.

I would personally recommend SRM for your studies as it offers an all-around development with decent placements.

Is Hindustan University good?

AM
Anita Mukherjee Posted On : September 16th, 2023
B.Tech in chem. Eng. from Hindustan University (2020)

As a student of Hindustan University, here is my honest opinion about my institution.

The fees are quite high, suitable for upper middle class candidates. The academics on the other hand, are quite average. The plus point is that you’ll get to meet people from different parts of India, especially Kerala. There is no dress code, so you can dress casually. The campus library is good.

There are various engineering branches. Even though the university claims to be best in Aeronautical Engineering, this is not the case. Rather, Electrical and Mechanical are good over here. The campus is decent. However, the placements are very poor.

Hindustan University offers an average college life, and very poor placements. But it does have a good ambience and a diverse crowd.

How is the placement of CSE, IT, and ECE branches at Hindustan University?

RS
Radhika Sharma Posted On : September 16th, 2023
Studied at Hindustan University (2020)

Here is all I know about the placement scenario of these branches at my university.

These are some top companies that visit the campus-

PwC , EY, Sap labs, Musigma, Amazon,ThoughtWorks, Hitachi Consulting, IBM India, HSBC, Huawei Technology, Zoho Corporation, Capgemini, CSC, ITC infotech, L&T Infotech, Gofrugal, Virtusa, Payoda, Code Brahma, Standard Chartered Scope Int, Ericsson, MAQ for internship, Unisys, Volante technologies, Verizon, TEK systems, HUL, Amadeus Software Labs, HP india, Alcatel, NTT Data, etc.

Companies like Amazon and MAQ software provide PPOs as well. Other than these, mass recruiters- TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini visit the campus with IT job profiles. HUL, Exxotel, Scope int, Tata communications, etc. are open to all branches.

The companies offer around 3-6 LPA on an average. The salary can also exceed 10 LPA in case of companies like DE Shaw and HSBC. Mass recruiters pay around 3.2-3.5 LPA.

Thus, the placements at Hindustan University are quite decent for CSE, ECE and IT.

How many candidates write Hindustan University's HITSEEE, on average?

RS
Radhika Sharma Posted On : September 18th, 2023
Studied at Hindustan University (2020)

I am an alumnus of Hindustan University. I secured the 52nd rank in HITSEEE-2013 and got a 50% scholarship for my studies at HU. This makes me the right person to answer your query.

On average, around 5000-6000 students appear for the HITSEEE each year. Rank 1-10 get a 90% scholarship, rank 11-50 get a 75% scholarship, and rank 51-100 get a 50% scholarship for their academic fee. If your 12th percentage is 90% or more, you won’t be paying any donation fee either.

Make sure to insist on getting that scholarship and donation fee exemption during your counseling. Else, you’ll be fooled into paying the entire amount.

The campus life of HU is decent. The university provides decent sports and extracurricular facilities. Only IT companies like Infosys and Tech Mahindra visit the campus for placements. Therefore, choose CSE/IT.

I want to study aeronautical engineering. Which is better, Manipal University or Hindustan University?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : September 18th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

I am an Aeronautical Engineer myself. I even searched for various institutes to pursue my degree from. Unfortunately, I did not have much guidance at the time.

So I’ll be mentioning some colleges that offer a B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering-

  1. Top IITs like IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Kharagpur (I have mentioned them randomly, with no hierarchical sequence).
  2. The Aeronautical Society of India
  3. Punjab Engineering College(PEC)
  4. Hindustan University
  5. Madras Institute of Technology
  6. IGNOU

These are some universities/colleges that offer Aeronautical engineering studies. You can consider Hindustan University for your degree.

What is the admission process of the Hindustan University?

Namrata Das Posted On : September 18th, 2023

I am listing below the two methods of acquiring admission into Hindustan University.

For HITSEEE applicants, you’ll receive an email/call informing you about the college counseling date. You’ll have to attend the main campus at Guindy on that day, select out of the branches available to you, and pay the required fees.

If you haven’t applied for HITSEEE, visit the college as soon as possible, in March/April, and register for your branch. You may be asked for a donation of around 1-2 Lakhs. But with good results in 12th, you won’t be paying a donation, and may even get a scholarship. Don’t approach any brokers or agents. Visit the Guindy campus directly for admission. Make sure to take along someone who knows good English.

This is the entire admission process for Hindustan University.

Which provides better placement, Madras Institution of Technology or Hindustan University?

PB
Prabhas Bose Posted On : April 29th, 2021
Studied at Madras Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu, India

The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the four campuses of the larger state university, Anna University, of the state of Tamil Nadu. The placement process for all these four colleges happens simultaneously in a combined process.

The placement data for MIT Chennai is given below along with the data of the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS or Hindustan University) for the year 2018-19.

Parameters

MIT, Chennai

HITS (Hindustan University)

Percentage of placed students

80-85%

78.75%

No. of visiting companies

194

77

Average CTC offered

INR 4.5 LPA

INR 4.9 LPA

So undoubtedly, MIT is better than Hindustan University in all respects as well as placements. Anna University placements are even sometimes comparable to some leading NITs and IITs in some branches such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). So, you can obviously realize which is better for you in terms of placements.
