As you've not asked about a specific program, I'd like to tell you about my cousin's experience at NMIMS Mumbai where he studied the NMIMS SBM core program.
Pros
Cons
NMIMS MBA is good, however, it doesn't depend on where you did your MBA from in the long run. As ultimately your overall performance will be taken into consideration.
NMIMS, Mumbai gives you a challenging as well as rewarding experience. It could be the perfect place for your MBA journey because:
So, if you're considering pursuing an MBA, NMIMS, Mumbai, is a fantastic choice
It is a close call between SPJIMR and JBIMS. NMIMS is not in the same league as these but it is a decent B-School and ranked among the top 30 in India. JBIMS has the highest rank. Indiatoday 2021 ranked the institute 12 for MBA.
JBIMS offers better ROI. Course fees for the institute are INR 6.05 Lakhs. While the average CTC for the institute is INR 27 LPA, according to JBIMS placements highlights of 2022. If you are interested in Finance, you should choose JBIMS.
If you are interested in Marketing and Ops, you should go for SP Jain.
Usually, students ranking in the top 300, get CSE, or IT at MPSTME, NMIMS. But this is just a tentative score. There is no such specific cutoff system. NMIMS Cutoff varies each year depending on the availability of seats.
So, try to score a good rank, to be safe. Since most students choose CSE or IT, the required cutoff remains high.
NMIMS provides you with the best platform for networking with a vibrant and diverse student community.
Life is great here because you get to stay in Mumbai. There are campus fests, but they are not in comparison to other popular fests. There isn't much to say about the culture at NMIMS, but that's okay because the city life of Mumbai makes up for it.Dee
According to the student’s reviews online, The average CTC (domestic) is INR 18.33 LPA. All the B-Schools of the country publish their placement reports based on CTC or cost to company numbers.
There is a huge difference between CTC and in-hand salary. So if your question was related to 16 lakhs CTC then it could be a possibility but if your question was related to 16 lakhs in hand salary then it might vary.
The average salary package may also vary depending on the company and your overall academic performance. Some companies offer students a 18-20 LPA salary package but they also have better grades. Whereas some Mass recruiting companies like TCS often give lots of job offers but with a lesser salary package.
NMIMS as a brand is really good. But the distance learning program provides much fewer opportunities to students than regular courses.
It is considered as a mere certification program, as they lack the critical elements like involvement in group projects, rigor of the full-time curriculum and peer-to-peer learning.
Hence, it is suggested that if you can afford it, opt for a full-time 2-year PGDM program. IISWBM Kolkata, ITM Mumbai, ASB Hyderabad, GIBS Bangalore, GLIM Chennai, etc. will be a good choice.
Yes, there are equal chances of both freshers and experienced employees to get a seat in NMIMS. There are several aspects that a candidate needs to consider to get a chance in institutes like NMIMS, and some of them are listed below in points.
Therefore, freshers can definitely get a seat in NMIMS, provided they have the correct profile and perform well in the entrance, CD, and PI rounds.
Some of the prominent features of the NMIMS blended learning program include online weekend lectures, access to best-in-class content, academic excellence, case studies and assignments for every subject, accreditation, and recognition by UGC-DEB AICTE, online exams and submissions, personal contact sessions, student portal updates, and industry acceptance ratio.
It is essential to choose wisely when selecting a program. Consider your personal preferences and needs, as well as the offerings of each institute. With a blended learning experience and strong industry acceptance ratio, NMIMS is a great option to consider, especially for those who wish to pursue certification courses.
If you are considering business schools, then NMIMS Mumbai should be among your top choices as it is considered to be one of the best in the country.
It is worth noting that, in my experience, distance MBA programs are not as effective as in-person programs. While you may learn 50% of the material from academics, the other 50% comes from interacting and learning from your peers. In-person programs provide more opportunities for peer learning, which can be difficult to replicate in distance MBA programs.
Do not believe in the ranking of the college. It will cost you if you are not a resident of Mumbai as the college does not have a hostel and spending this much amount for an MBA is really stupidity.
You will get an average package of around 12.5-13 LPA for core and 9-10 LPA for HR. Also, the college charges separate amounts for GDPI round and after the release of results, the college demands 9 lakh be deposited immediately within a week.
Also, it is believed that sitting in centralized AC and roaming in posh areas would not help in your overall development but exposure to different fields prepares you for the professional front.
Lastly, we can say that spending too much without availing facilities is not worth it. So abstain from getting admission here. Instead, take admission in other top management colleges where you get exposure to various other fields as well.
