IIM Rohtak offers admission based on your potential and not solely on the marks previously obtained. When the interviewer enquires of you regarding your low percentage, you should honestly answer him/her.

Instead of faltering and mumbling your answers you should confidently speak out your answers. Even if you would be at fault your interviewer would let it slide given that you are not doubtful of your own self. Try not to use any falsehood around them and notably maintain your calm. 

One can be of the view that your personality impresses your interviewers. In some cases, this view could be true. Maintain your calm and confidence in yourself and you will crack the interview.

IIM Rohtak campus is far from the main city of Rohtak and is situated on a highway. So accommodation has to be provided to the students. It’s a 200-acre campus and has ample space for hostels in its existing campus.

The offer letter which the IIM Rohtak authorities sent to the selected students clearly stated that they had to pay an amount of INR 4.10 lakhs for the first year of the 5 years Integrated Program in Management (IPM) at the institute which covers the tuition fee, room rent, and other relevant fees though not including security deposits, study materials, alumni membership fee, and some other fees.

Clearly you will be getting hostels for the IPM courses as well. Do not believe in rumors stating otherwise.

IIM Rohtak is one of the reputed and popular B-schools in India and doing a certificate course from this institution will have a great impact on your career.

My sister was in a similar situation when she was a freshman at IIM Rohtak, she was skeptical too. However, after a lot of retrospection and experiences, IIM Rohtak proved to be a wise choice. Here are some crucial insights into IIM according to my sister’s experiences.

Campus Life:

• All the buildings on the campus are wi-fi enabled through a fiber-optic network, controlled by the IT Resources Centre.
• Also, you can choose from numerous e-books and the physical library.

Core faculty:

• You will have eminent professors at IIM Rohtak.
• They are well experienced, helpful and cooperative.

Fests:

• You can take part in IIMs 72-hour annual cultural fest, which is the biggest fest organized by any IIM in North India.
• The fest includes a number of enthralling events in the Social, Cultural, Sports, and Management verticals.
• This gives you an amazing opportunity to incorporate your management skills learned in classes.

Location:

• IIM R is currently the only IIM near the NCR region.
• This arguably gives it an edge over others in gaining exposure and locking the industrial opportunities for you.

Overall, don’t underestimate IIM Rohtak on the basis of its new establishment. The institute has flourished well in its short span and still continues to shine. Dropping a year and rejecting such a great opportunity isn’t a wise thing to do. Yes, you won’t regret getting into IIM Rohtak for sure.

IIM Rohtak has already started a 5-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM) in 2019. It is similar to the IPM program started by IIM Indore earlier.

There are some minor differences between the two as well such as the minimum percentage required by the student to be eligible for admission in the course. IIM Rohtak has mandated that a student should secure at least 75% in both 10th and 12th to be eligible to apply for this course.

The number of seats offered by the institute is 160. Undergraduate education in management is not very well promoted in India and hopefully, with IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, and many more to possibly follow suit, the undergraduate management education will also receive the same glory as MBAs.

The IPM course introduced by IIM Rohtak is rigid and flexible at the same time. The course was started by IIM Indore and Rohtak is following the former’s footsteps. Like its Indore counterpart, 2020 is the first batch that will be experimented on.

If we come down to the process certain merits and so-called ‘demerits’ can be put forward.

1. This program is new and has not found its foothold yet which resulted in some hesitation from the first batch of IIM Indore.
2. Before you compare, ask yourself some questions like, if you have received the offer and if you have then what you are planning to do with it. There are high prospects but as the program is still new it would take some time to turn up on the map.
3. It is not mature to bring up the fact that the institute is in Haryana. There is an IIT in Kharagpur and Kanpur and they attract tons of candidates during admission.

The reports of the average placement drive of 2020 show that the highest package offered was as high as INR 24 LPA. It’s pretty certain the figures would see an increase in the future. The placements may be as good as, and/or even better than the current package for PGP.

List your priorities and decide accordingly. You will be using a lot of money and will get little or no return on investment (ROI). The IIM brand name will serve you for the better.

During the placement process at IIM Rohtak, three of the so-called ‘Big 4’ visited the campus for offering roles in their companies. The four companies are Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, E&Y. The institute hopes that it can maintain a friendly relationship with the companies.

The companies ended up recruiting a large number of students from General Management and Consulting.

Consulting, as a subject, comes during your second year. It will help you to hone your skills in the domain of consultancy. One of the best faculty at IIM Rohtak is Prof. Sujit Kumar who will make the topics interesting for you.

IIM Rohtak has a dedicated club for Strategy and Consulting and it is instrumental in bringing live projects from reputed. If you are sure of being recruited in consultancy either on or off-campus, then you have a bright future in this course.

It would be much clearer, had you mentioned your background. However, assuming two separate perspectives, let’s divide your present scenario. The first one is your work experience, while the second is your level of seriousness while preparing to give an attempt at CAT.

1. In case your work experience is slightly less than 2 years, but you still went for a serious attempt: It might be a calculated risk. If you are confident enough about leveraging your present work experience, then you should secure at least around 95 percentile in the following CAT exam since it will help you become eligible for older IIMs.
2. In case your work experience is supposedly less than 2 years, and CAT is a casual attempt: You might want to appear for the exam since you can still afford to lose one year and will be able to reap maximum benefits of your work experience once you get selected to an IIM.
3. In case your work experience is more than 2 years, but the CAT exam is still a serious attempt: Unfortunately, it might become highly risky, given your present scenario. CAT is sometimes extremely uncertain when providing scores. So, it will be safe to go for it.
4. In case your work experience is beyond 2 years, but it is a casual attempt: Similarly, the risks here are quite the reflection of the former statement. However, if you still have a really good job, and you personally want to add value to your profile nonetheless, then you can stick to it and try again another year.

IIM Rohtak is undeniably a reputed and well-known B-school and will secure you opportunities that are as similar as what other newer IIMs provide. The best way you would be able to leverage your quota will be your high scores, which should at least range somewhere around the 95 percentile. It will help secure a position at older IIMs. you should always analyze your chances, the recent market exposure your opportunities have. Depending on these issues, you should finally decide what you should go for.

For the first year, IIM Rohtak provides dual sharing rooms with air conditioners. No extra charges are required for it as it is included in the fee structure.

As the campus of IIM Rohtak is located a bit far away from the city, the college will be providing hostel facilities to the IPM students. Also, they are charging 4,10,000 fees which includes hostel charges, so there are chances of getting hostels. The college campus is huge and there is ample space for building hostels as well.

As far as the new hostel is concerned, it has been developed and is very huge. There are 4 people sharing rooms. There are two rooms connected with a single door. There are attached bathrooms as well. The new hostels are much better than the older hostels on the campus and have all kinds of facilities.
