My friend studies at IIIT Allahabad. He considers it better than most of the IITs out there. If you are not after the IIT tag, go for IIIT Allahabad. However, both these institutions have an equally great reputation as eminent institutes of India. 

You may want to consider the following points as well, before deciding.

• IIITA is an INI vide IIIT Act 2014 and IIT Gandhinagar is INI vide IIT Act 1961.
• IIITA is well known for its IT program. Its placements have been excellent as well, in terms of consistency. In 2019, the placement rate was 95% and in 2020 it was 96%.
• More than 120 companies have visited IIIT Allahabad over these years.
• The institute also has a group of erudite faculty members which are quite helpful in the provision of support throughout the academic program. Some of my friend's favorites are BSS, Sanyal, Nandi, and others. The director of the department P Nagbhushan has been elemental in bringing in excellent faculty members who have been dedicated to the program, unlike IIT Gandhinagar.
• The coding culture is brilliant here as well, because of which you can get placement offers with good companies.
• The funding by the government is a hefty INR 72 crores for a single year for two branches; which is more than enough for IT.

Moreover, a lot of new departments are being constructed as BH5 7 floors building. The institute will rise in the years to come according to the plan charted by MHRD which includes the addition of startups, MOOCs, and employment of faculty members from countries abroad.

IIIT Allahabad and IIITM Gwalior both colleges give admission based on JEE Main cut-off ranks.

With your rank, you can get through spot counseling at IIITMG but it will be risky. But according to the cutoff trend, you should get IIIT A Amethi campus in the 3rd or even 2nd round.Check out the official website for detailed information.

It’s not normally an easy way to secure admission in IIIT Allahabad. Although just like all the other IIITs, there is no home reservation for the state students so it doesn’t actually matter which state you belong to.

In my opinion, your All India Rank should fall somewhere under 6.5k for you to be able to get selected in a premier institute such as IIIT Allahabad.

The preparation for the examination requires a good amount of concentration and focus. After doing some research on the internet, I finally came to a conclusion that NIT Calicut is considered among the top 5 NITs and IIIT Allahabad is the best IIITs, that is IIITH and IIITB. Let me mention some facts that you should know about.

• If you are interested in pursuing IT-related branches, then IIIT Allahabad will be a good choice. They even offer an advanced curriculum.
• At NIT Calicut you will get non-circuit branches also like Civil, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
• NIT Calicut and IIIT Allahabad are Tier 3 and Tier 4 institutes respectively.

According to the reviews online, I got to know that both are equally good institutes. You can opt to study in any of the institutes, as they are both prestigious and reputed institutes.

There’s no doubts about the fact that 5 years at IIITA is a smarter option compared to anything else. This is because of the simple calculation that you are going to study the same curriculum for 4 years BTech for 3 years. That is all about the core of CS and IT. One core and two electives are a part of the fourth year in a 4-year BTech program, which hardly makes any difference. 

According to the experts, Robotics is the future of the IT industry and hence, finding yourself in the midst of such an academically enriching atmosphere which ensures a full time access to a premium robotics laboratory and esteemed faculty will certainly do good to you in more ways than you can ever imagine. That’s the kind of right exposure you are looking at.

Moreover, this department at IIIT Allahabad is being funded by MHRD, thus having a lot of helpful and positive influence from the big academic and administrative circles from all over the country. A number of international conferences sponsored by IEEE are held here regularly. A DST funded summer school of robotics is also a part of this institute. IIIT Allahabad is known to have multiple MOUs with various popular foreign universities and has extensive student exchange programs to give the best exposure of the industry and experts to its students.

IIIT Allahabad is better than MNIT Allahabad if you are interested in coding. Although NITs and IIIT Allahabad both are centrally funded technical institutes. The only difference is the course curriculum as IIIT Allahabad focuses only on IT and ECE. Due to this, minor subjects like Chemistry, Applied Mechanics, Engineering Drawing are dropped in 1st and 2nd semester itself. 

NITs have a long legacy making it more reputable with strong alumni across all domains. On the other hand, IIITA is a young institution and follows innovative academic policies. Its alumni members are even present in Silicon Valley in a short span of time.

You can decide your own priorities in the career. If you are interested in coding culture and look forward to great internships and placements with a small cozy campus, you should prefer IIIT Allahabad. You should opt for MNIT Allahabad if you are interested in meeting new people with diverse backgrounds. It will help you in enhancing your personality. 

If you ask me, my vote goes for IIIT Allahabad on all these below parameters.

• College Life: IIIT Allahabad is an institute of national importance, and boasts one of the best campuses in the country. Whereas, MNNIT is not even on the edge.
• Placements: 96% of the students got placed and received job offers from more than 120 companies. All major Computer Science companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Adobe come to IIIT Allahabad's campus and make offers.

IIIT Allahabad has placements in Google Mountain View/ Europe/ Australia/Japan from almost every Batch from the past 4-5 years. IIIT Allahabad was preferred by these companies because a lot of alumni already worked in these companies and better industry perception has been built up.

The strength in NIT-A is approximately twice as compared to IIIT-A. And every year this strength keeps increasing. As you know that the quality decreases with the increase in strength, I would again suggest you choose IIIT-A.
