VJ
Veer Jain Posted On : June 7th, 2023
Studied at Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2019)

Yes, after finishing the first three years of the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) program at IIM Indore, you will be eligible to sit for UPSC.

After completing 3 years in the IPM course, you will be given a UG degree in Management Studies (BMS).

After earning your BMS degree, you have the option of pursuing a management career or studying for the UPSC to enter public service. IPM program offers a strong foundation in general studies that might be helpful for studying for the UPSC, even though it is primarily focused on those who wish to pursue a career in management.

It's important to note that the UPSC is quite difficult and competitive and that it requires extensive study and effort. If you're thinking of appearing at UPSC, you should start studying as soon as possible and stick to a strict study schedule.

Is the IIM Indore entrance very difficult to crack?

AR
Aanshika Rani Posted On : January 3rd, 2023
PGPM from Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2022)

The level of difficulty of any test or exam depends on your intelligence, IQ, English speaking and writing skills, Mathematics, and logical reasoning. The aptitude test comprises questions based on similar topics. The difficulty varies from individual to individual. For instance, you might be able to ace the aptitude test but falter during the interview ruining your chance of admission.

My brother was able to crack the Aptitude test as he had been preparing for JEE and the level of Math and English was way below what he had prepared.

The interview is the trickiest part. They can literally ask you anything from the structure of the Indian Government to the weather in your hometown. Most of the questions can be solved with luck and logic. They might also ask you what you have studied so far and what you haven’t. You can never be fully prepared for the interview. Rather than your knowledge they asses your confidence and other soft skills during the interviews.

Do IIM Indore and other IIMs (except IIM-A) place the students overseas?

AB
Astha Basu Posted On : August 24th, 2021
M.B.A. from Indian Institute of Management Indore (2018)

As per current requirements, the industrial market unarguably requires MBA in many sectors. Each sector finds it necessary to include Operation, Marketing, Finance, etc.

  • If we shift focus to look at the requirements for managers in any country, for instance, the USA, then they definitely produce more than one bunch of managers.
  • In that case, their business market does not possibly require outsourcing candidates from nations other than the USA itself.
  • That is one of the major reasons why students often opt for pursuing an M.S rather than an MBA in the USA, and other similar countries.
  • There is a different bunch of students who assert that IIMs generally place students in business arenas situated overseas.
  • But, when comparing the ratio, the number of placements located abroad is reasonably much lower than anticipated.
  • Comparing the general domestic placements, the international ones are quite less, even in IIMs situated in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata.

In any case, the old IIMs are still somewhere capable of providing overseas placement offers, as per industrial needs. Comparably, the nascent IIMs that are still on their way of development do not usually make provision of foreign placement offers.

Who are some of the best and worst professors (past and present) at IIM Indore?

SM
Sourav Mukherjee Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2014)

IIM Indore is among one of the management hubs in India. As some of my friends studied at IIM Indore, and as per his review, the best professors at that time were Mr. KS Ramesh for FMCG Marketing, Mr. Rajesh Srivastav for Brand Management, and Mr. Ganesh for Economics.

  • KS Ramesh held a very senior position at CavinKare and Reckitt Benckiser before he transitioned to teaching.
  • He was extremely cooperative and helpful.
  • Also, Deepak Kapur who teaches Business Valuation, was also an alum of this institution.
  • My friends say that they have learnt more in this course than the others combined.
  • They both were visiting faculty members.
  • Professor Ganesh, Professor Natrajan and Professor Pani were the best among the permanent faculty members.

Overall, these professors of IIM Indore have vast industry experience and equip students with the strong fundamentals of the respective subjects. It is famous for the quality of education, which is at par with the leading B-schools in the world. Therefore, it has received accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA.

Which one will be better, getting a BBA at IIM Indore or at Symbiosis?

SS
Samita Saha Posted On : August 28th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Indore (2020)

Indian Institute of Management, Indore offers an Integrated Program in Management (IPM).

This is not just a general BBA program. It is an integrated program as the name already suggests. It has a very well-organized course curriculum. The level of exposure you will be getting at IIM Indore is much better than you can find at any other institute. Speaking of Symbiosis, it does not offer as much versatility and exposure as compared to IIM Indore, there will be huge differences in their course curriculum and teaching style.

The IPM program at IIM Indore has a 3-year BBA program and a 2-year MBA program. The first three years of the IPM program are being taught separately. The faculties are very knowledgeable and supportive. The remaining two years are merged with the flagship Post-graduation program.

So, IPM from IIM Indore is definitely better than a BBA from Symbiosis.

How do I crack IPM IIM Indore test in 3 days?

SK
Sheetal Kumari Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
MBA from Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2018)

My colleague wrote the IPMAT back in 2013. It was one of the safe options for her, as she was preparing for law. The exam was to be held within 2 days of a major law exam. You can easily prepare for the exam in 2-3 days.

You can go through the sample papers and previous years’ papers to understand the pattern. Management exams are all about functioning with common sense and the IPM entrance exam tests just that. You can prepare with ease simply by revising what you've prepared in the last 6 months.

Which course is the best? IIM Indore's IPM, BFIA / BMS at SSCBS, DU; BSc Fin. at NMIMS or BBA at Christ?

AS
Anusha Soni Posted On : January 4th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2021)

In my opinion, the best course among these is IPM. Some might even think I am a little biased towards this course but in reality once you learn the advantages of this program you will change your mind.

The Programme consists of 15 terms spread over a period of 5 years, with each year having 3 terms of 3 months. The subjects of the initial 3 years focus on the foundation and the last 2 years have core subjects that focus on Management.

  • The programme is designed by renowned experts.
  • IIM-I tag
  • Amazing infrastructure
  • Excellent faculty
  • Extensive network of alumnis
  • Peers from diverse backgrounds (The last 2 years are along with PGP students )
  • Great placement opportunities
  • Wide range of co-curricular activities

Cons :

  • Programme is new so recruiters and big companies don’t trust it much
  • It experiences bias when compared to the old PGP model.
  • In case one doesn't like the programme, you can not change the stream again.
  • IPM offers very limited scope
  • No specialization
  • Freshers are not much preferred in comparison to experienced placements.
  • High fees

Still if you are not convinced that IPM is the best alone the courses you mentioned, the order for the other courses is

SSCBS> NMIMS> Christ

The only advantage the other courses have over IPM is that their model is tried and tested and open to lesser risks. Hence the scope is not that much limited.

How good is IPM at IIM Indore in terms of ROI (return of investment)?

SD
Saunak Dasgupta Posted On : August 20th, 2021
MBA in Finance, Integrated Programme in Management, IIM Indore (2018)

My brother is a student of IIM Indore and according to him, the IPM program offered by the institute is not that good. Also, no other IIM offers IPM, which does say something about the course.

Compared to the course fees, the average package offered to the students is less. So the ROI for the IPM program is not that great. Here is a brief outline of the IPM program.

Course Fee  20 lakhs
Average CTC  17 LPA
Major recruiters Deloitte, BCG, Amazon, Cipla, etc.

Also, you will not receive any proper undergraduate degree instead you get only an IGNOU degree which holds no value.

What should I choose between an IPM course at IIM Indore or a BMS course at Xavier College Mumbai?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : June 4th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

The five-year IIM Indore IPM degree combines undergraduate and postgraduate management courses. Students who want to start their management career after 12th grade should take this course. The programme comprises economics, accounting, marketing, and human resource management classes and internships with prominent organisations. This management programme is well-regarded and offers great job chances.

BMS at Xavier College Mumbai is a three-year undergraduate programme that covers all elements of management. This programme teaches management skills. The programme offers internships, economics, statistics, marketing, and finance classes.

Both degrees are well-regarded and provide great managerial careers. IIM Indore's IPM programme may be a fantastic choice for 12th-graders who want to start their management careers. The BMS programme at Xavier College Mumbai may be preferable for you if you desire a more conventional undergraduate education and then management.
