Then they'll take you to a room where you'll get a token and wait for your turn. When it is your turn, you will be taken to a computer room. The staff member will fill in all of your details and preferences. Then you will be given a receipt for that as well, which you must present at the relevant college. That's how the counseling process is.
As my brother is a student of IET Lucknow, I will be sharing his experience as he recently completed his first year there. The changes which my brother and many of his batch mates want to see at IET Lucknow include:
Administration
Fests
Politics
These are the major changes which the students wish to see in the institute. Many others can only be observed once you get enrolled at the institute.
The answer for this question depends on what your preferences are and what your goals are for the future.
However, the branches of Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering can often lead to recruitment in PSUs with packages going up to INR 30-40 LPA.
If you are looking for a coding culture that you expect from colleges like IIIT Allahabad, then sorry it is non-existent here. Most of the students who do coding on their own keep their knowledge to themselves and do not share it with anyone else like some other colleges.
You will get guidance from some very good teachers but they only have theoretical knowledge. Unfortunately, most of the professors are totally ignorant about the needs of a good coding culture. They will give you questions that you can easily copy from the internet and they do not care at all.
Speaking of the internet it is available 24X7. The labs are there just for the sake of it and are not functional. If you are really passionate about coding then it is better to start learning yourself. There are plenty of online resources which you can access thanks to the free and excellent internet.
Currently, there is no coding culture here at IET Lucknow. Maybe you could bring in some actual changes in the mindset of the students.
Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). Though it lacks quality placements, it more than makes up for the lack of it by providing a very good environment for competitive exams after graduation.
Students here excel in various competitive exams for higher education and government jobs such as CAT, GATE, Bank PO and Clerical, SSC, CDS, etc. There are various institutes nearby which you can join for preparation while still attending your college. Also, the attendance is very lenient, and academic pressure is minimal.
IET Lucknow is one of the famous colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Although being a Tier-3 college, it is preferred by students, as it is fully managed by the Government. One of my friends studied here and these are some of the facts I gathered from her about the college.
These were some of the basic points you should know about placements. Also last year some of the students were placed in MNCs like DE Shaw, Code Nation, Amazon, Byju's, etc. If you want to prepare for GATE/CAT/GRE, there is a wonderful environment at IET Lucknow.
