What should I choose between BIMTECH and NIT Durgapur for an MBA?

SA
Sakshi Ahuja Posted On : April 18th, 2023
PGDM Full Time, graduated in 2019

Disregarding the fees, BIMTECH is better than NIT Durgapur for pursuing an MBA degree because of its infrastructure that’s been specifically tailored for MBA students. NIT Durgapur, on the other hand, being a technical institute, has many graduate students but not the same kind of specialized infrastructure.

In terms of location, BIMTECH is located in the NCR, which may provide more internship and job opportunities. Additionally, companies and guests who visit BIMTECH are specifically looking to meet with management students, which is not there in NIT.

What are the pros and cons of joining Bimtech for PGDM?

NK
Nikhil Kumar Posted On : April 20th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology (2019)

BIMTECH is a fairly good choice of institute to pursue a PGDM course. As my cousin has just completed his post-graduation from there, I have come up with these pros and cons after brief research and reference:

Pros:

  • Faculty: At BIMTECH, you will be taught by really good and experienced professors. You will be laden with thorough knowledge of everything you learn but it all depends on your hard work at the end.
  • Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure and facilities are great. You will get air-conditioned classrooms, projectors, good furniture, and other amenities. Hostels are also good, and the mess food is also better than other hostels of different colleges.
  • Placements: Coming to campus placements, you can grab good packages with finance companies offering an average salary of 5-7 LPA and marketing companies with up to 12 LPA.

Cons: The only con that my cousin came across is the curriculum which is being followed.

  • Although the course taught satisfies the industrial needs but it is a bit outdated with respect to recent advancements and updates.
  • Also, the pedagogy is old-fashioned, i.e, whiteboard pedagogy.
  • Even the emphasis on Practical knowledge is quite low in this college.
  •  During an internship, almost all of you will get there but the profiles are not clearly explained, and looks like you are just being pushed in a hurry to give others a chance.

Overall, it is an above-average option to pursue PGDM, there is nothing exceptional about it. If you think you are much capable, then definitely go for other reputed institutes. At the end of the day, what matters the most is your hard work and skills.

Which is better, an MBA at BHU or a PGDM at BIMTECH?

AM
Anindita Mukherjee Posted On : May 16th, 2023
PGDM Marketing, Birla Institute of Management Technology (2018)

The PGDM program at BIMTECH is a better option than the MBA program at BHU. Why is this:

All four of BIMTECH's PGDM programs have received AIU approval, making them all MBA-equivalent. In addition, it provides students with a completely residential campus with all the amenities, extensive industry exposure, illustrious instructors, and a strong track record of job placement.

For campus placements, BIMTECH welcomes a variety of prominent national and international businesses. Additionally, the packages are respectable; according to current placement statistics, the highest domestic package was 18 LPA and the highest international package was 23 LPA.

Through a variety of Clubs and Conduits, the institute also supports experiential learning and extracurricular pursuits. Additionally, students experience a wide range of cultures around the world. BIMTECH is a better choice for advancing your management education in light of these aspects. I wish you luck!

International business is a good field to pursue as the competition is a little less as compared to other famous masters program, although the course is offered by few colleges in India, IIFT Delhi is one of the tops in this category, but if you are not able to get admission in IIFT Delhi you could go for BIMTECH Noida as IB is one of their flagship programs.

  • Faculty, Exposure, and Alumni Base: BIMTECH has a sizable alumni base and offers students well-rounded exposure to management studies. In terms of faculty, exposure, and alumni base, IMT-H may take a few years to reach the level of BIMTECH.

The institute has strict dress regulations in place, as well as separate hostels for boys and girls. Additionally, a variety of extracurricular activities are organized and administered by the students.

The institute's Corporate Communications and Relations team also provides a thorough explanation of the highest and lowest wages provided during placement. • Lateral Hiring Opportunities: After the end of the internship, BIMTECH offers lateral hiring opportunities, which include positions as senior Assistant Manager, or even Manager. Students are given the opportunity to visit various companies and communicate with recruiters.
  • Salary Packages: BIMTECH has a better-than-average placement rate, with salaries ranging from almost 6 to 7 lakhs per year. However, some students receive fantastic packages worth more than ten lakhs, depending on their abilities.

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : April 18th, 2023
Studied at Birla Institute of Management Technology

In order to secure admission in BIMTECH Noida, a percentile score of 80 or above in the Common Admission Test (CAT) would be a safe bet. However, candidates with a percentile of 70 and above, along with a good academic score of 65% or higher, can also expect to receive a call. It’s advisable to consider other colleges with lower fees as the average package offered by BIMTECH Noida is around 9 lakhs and the total fees including hostel expenses would be around 15 lakhs.
