Well, it depends upon several factors. A few of them are as mentioned below.
There are other factors, or possible scenarios, such as,
The above scenarios can give you possible average outcomes, but there can be vague contradictions as well. You also need to consider which subject interests you.
According to various student reviews, the preference order for CSE and Mechanical is MNNIT > NITJ. You should always give preference to the branch rather than the institute. Hope this clarifies most of your doubts.
To compare two institutes, you need to consider various factors. A few of such parameters are briefed below.
If we compare MNNIT Allahabad and VNIT Nagpur based on these parameters, MNNIT comes ahead, although marginally.
Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by the two institutes.

Other than that, you can also choose a college which is closer to your hometown, if necessary. That way you can save valuable travel time and visit home during holidays.
The scores are subject to change per year for admission criteria. However, in a nutshell, your selection also depends upon the choice of the branch you have for a B.Tech course and in which category do you actually belong to.
For instance, my cousin’s brother is from the general category and had acquired 228 marks in JEE Mains 2015. Besides, he also had 94.4 percent of marks in his CBSE board examinations. His rank was 3828 and he got admission to the CSE branch. His 10+2 score affected his ranking.
However, currently, the 10+2 score does not matter that much for admission. A total of 180 and out of 360 will be a safe rank for taking admission. If you are applying for CSE, you need to work a little hard as the cutoff is more for the branch.
Here is the recent cutoff requirement for MNNIT Allahabad.

Among the colleges, choosing NIT Calicut for CSE will be a better option. The faculty of NIT Calicut is very talented and knowledgeable in their fields. They are very good at explaining the concepts and are also humble and helpful in nature.
The placements of this college are amazing. There are better companies visiting the campus for placements as compared to NIT Allahabad. There are a lot of other opportunities available too, especially for CS students. Here is a brief placement highlight for NIT Calicut.
If you want to pursue CSE, then NIT Calicut will be a very good college for you as the facilities for CSE are top-notch. You will also get good placement opportunities.
MNNIT offers good internship opportunities to CSE students. If you are a skilled programmer, you can easily get internships and PPOs through campus drive. More than 50% of students from the branch get internship offers. CSE students receive the maximum number of placements. The placement rate for CSE is around 100%. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 21 LPA.
Yes, MNNIT Allahabad does hold a beautiful campus spread over an area of 222 acres and has the facilities of assisting any guest house facility if needed. MNNIT Allahabad has the EDC building which provides accommodation.
You can just go to the EDC building and fill up the form and if there are rooms available, you will easily get accommodation. It is located near the girl’s hostel and the rooms are quite spacious and also the service charges are cheap.
Moreover, MNNIT Allahabad assists dining facility for which you have to inform a few hours prior and also pay separately as; it is not included in the college mess.
I have a few friends from MNNIT Allahabad and here is what they had to say.
Hope this helps.
ISI, at the undergraduate level, teaches statistics and mathematics and IISER is in charge of General Sciences and MNNIT Allahabad offers engineering programs. Think thoroughly about what you want to pursue because the paradigms are different and the impact on the industry is also different.
If you go for civil engineering at MNNIT Allahabad you will find that the subjects are similar in the first year. You can top your class if you study hard. Only the top 2-3 students get the opportunity for changing their discipline after completing the first year. Changing your discipline will enhance your eligibility to the other institutes you have mentioned in your postgraduate.
ISI gives you five options at the postgraduate level:
IISc offers a number of specializations in engineering and general sciences. The eligibility, however, was restricted to undergraduates and the disciplines related to them. For shifting disciplines, you will have to appear for the GATE exams for the discipline you are converting to.
My friend appeared for his GATE exam in CSE to pursue the same in M.Tech. ISI is unique in this case because there are no restrictions here.
This totally depends on your choices and interests. As the college administration is unknown towards your logical mind in doing computer programming all day or managing a manufacturing unit.
If you choose Mechanical Engineering as a branch, it is far better than Computers, where the second one is more subjective than the first one. For this reason, you can easily become an expert in computer programming, and it is not so easy to become a mechanical engineering expert.

But if you are interested in mechanical, or want to appear in IES after completing the BTech degree, then studying mechanical from MNNIT will be the best decision for you.
Besides, if you want to take Computer Science to be settled in top MNCs, studying CSE in PEC will be the best decision for you, rather than studying it in NIT K.
Both MNNIT Allahabad and DTU are well-established and much-reputed colleges. If you get admission to any of the colleges, your future will be bright and you will land up really well in companies.
Moreover, choose a branch that excites you as it is equally important as the college you will take admission in. If programming excites you, then MNNIT CSE is the best choice. If not, you can go for hardware options i.e. Electronics. Though, I'm not sure how good the software engineering of DTU is.
In terms of placements and research areas, MNNIT is not extreme but fine. You won’t get excellent faculties but you will learn a lot from their experiences. Try not to be depending on your faculty in your college life. You'll have to develop your interest and learn on your own.
Do not think only about the college but make sure you choose the correct branch as well. Both are equally important as you know that your future will depend on them.
