How is the Wi-Fi speed at the NIT Trichy?

RM
Ramesh Mishra Posted On : August 31st, 2021
B.Tech. from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2017)

One of my friends graduated from NIT Trichy and here are some details about the wifi and its availability around the campus.

  • The Wi-Fi speed varies depending on the hostel you are in and the location of the room in the hostel.
  • The lucky ones who have a wifi router just outside their room are lucky enough to get such rooms.
  • They can stream online and don’t have to worry about slow connection speed.
  • However, sometimes it disappoints because of a few technical issues but then this is something that will happen and get rectified and then happen again.
  • Hostel room allotment is computer-based and so you are too lucky to get a good one. Rest the world works on negotiations.

First-year and third-year hostels have good wifi compared to second and fourth-year hostels. For the second floor, it’s amber, for the third floor it’s zircon, and for the fourth floor, it’s garnet. The WiFi speed is overall good. At night, the wifi speeds go up to 4 to 5 MBPS.

Are dasa students at nit trichy eligible for on campus placement?

AM
Aditya Mishra Posted On : September 1st, 2021
B.Tech. from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2017)

Yes, they are eligible and they are known to get offered good packages. According to some of my friends at NIT Trichy, some companies, especially MNCs which are expanded throughout different continents tend to prefer these students over others, if you're competing against them in the final interview.

  • Their exposure to different country backgrounds and openness to move around the globe for education represent them as suitable candidates for MNCs.
  • They are also often better at communication as well.
  • These qualities make them a good hire for companies, as they can easily adapt.
  • For the Indian students, you should not be surprised to see some of your NRI friends getting placed unexpectedly into some of the best companies.

So if you're a DASA candidate in NIT Trichy then be assured that you'll get the best shots to convert in campus provided you get to the final round on your caliber.

What is the need of a dress code at NIT-Trichy?

SP
Sangita Patnayak Posted On : September 6th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2019)

Since one of my cousins is currently a part of NIT Trichy, he can possibly elaborate on your question more thoroughly.

  • The dress code at NIT Trichy, as per my cousin, is very rare.
  • Unlike many other institutes in Tamil Nadu, the dress code at NIT Trichy is quite unflustered.
  • Students, mainly boys, cannot wear shorts into the class but can definitely wear t-shirts if they wish to.
  • The major drawbacks are rather faced by the girls of the institute because, at any seasonal point, they are mandated to wear salwar kameez or Kurtis.
  • It is both unjust and apparently not highly appreciated, in terms of climatic conditions, comfort zone, and other similar factors.
  • That said, it can get highly unmanageable during the summertime when the climatic conditions of Tamil Nadu usually soar the highest.
  • Trichy, Tamil Nadu, is extremely conservative in factors relating to the modern outlook of society.
  • Regardless of how much the campus has currently grown, there have been multiple incidents of fining bulky amounts to students for unconsciously flouting the dress code of the institute, even on basketball fields.

However, it is best if you research more about the present scenario of NIT Trichy, regarding their dress codes, regulations, and other relevant aspects.

  7.  The fee at NIT Trichy is also relaxed

DISADVANTAGES:

  1. The faculty at NIT Trichy is not impressive and might not put in the required effort
  2.  The faculty strength is also small, though teachers are continuously hired

MEASI

ADVANTAGES:

  1. MEASI is located in Chennai, so its location is advantageous

What is your review about NIT Trichy EEE branch?

SS
Savi Sharma Posted On : October 19th, 2023

B.Tech EEE is the most hectic course offered by NIT Trichy.

As a B.Tech EEE student, you’ll have classes and labs all day long. The faculty is experienced. Most of them are friendly and supportive, but you can only rely on self-study. You’ll have some of the brightest students as your peers. Try to befriend some of them as they will help you a lot in studies.

NIT Trichy is comparable to some of the old IITs, in terms of placements. Almost all the students of B.Tech EEE are successfully placed each year, and some of them even bag multiple offers. Those who don’t sit for placements, opt for higher studies in prestigious Indian and foreign universities.

NIT Trichy will offer you an awesome campus culture, and lifelong memories. Its EEE branch is hectic, but rewarding at the same time.

Is architecture really good at NITT and NIT Calicut?

AT
Akashi Thirukonda Posted On : August 27th, 2021
B.Tech Chemical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Calicut (2019)

Architecture students at NIT Trichy are extremely talented and hardworking. The campus has a competitive environment. The whole course is more about learning by doing rather than mugging up theories.

A career in Architecture requires you to learn from an already established firm or architect and then go ahead to carve your niche. My friends have shared really positive experiences about these kinds of internships, so my guess is that at NIT Trichy you give you the proper exposure.

Parameters NIT Calicut NIT Trichy
Tuition Fee INR 16,000 INR 72,500
Placement Percentage 73.5% 92%
Average Package INR 11.57 LPA INR 11.58 LPA

You must know that the field of architecture is not weak-hearted and you must possess good control over your body NIT Calicut is also one of the good colleges for architecture. But the ultimate decision lies in your hand.

I am assuming that you are asking about core civil job profiles. According to my friend at NIT Trichy the placement record for the Civil Engineering branch is quite good. Here is the placement trend for the branch.

Year Civil Engineering
2019-20 81.7%

Which should I choose: IIT Madras for metallurgy over NIT Trichy for computer science and engineering?

AS
Aditi Sengupta Posted On : March 29th, 2023
Studied at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

If you're trying to decide what to study at university, it can be overwhelming. You should consider CSE at NIT Trichy, instead of going to IIT Madras for metallurgy. Here are some reasons why you should choose computer science engineering:

  • Don't choose a branch just for the sake of a tag: You may feel pressure to choose a certain branch of study because of the prestige associated with it, but this can be a mistake. Instead, consider your long-term career goals and what will be most beneficial to you in achieving them.
  • Don't risk your career for a tag: Going for a branch just because it's considered prestigious, even if it's not the best fit for you, can be a big risk. Your career is important and you should choose something that will set you up for success in the future.
  • Topping the class doesn't guarantee certainty: If you're certain you want to change your branch and you're confident you'll be able to top your class at IIT Madras, you may be considering metallurgical engineering. However, there's always a risk that you won't be able to achieve that top spot. If that happens, you'll be stuck with a degree that may not be as useful for your career goals.

Is there any uniform or dress code at NIT Trichy?

AS
Ashutosh Subramanian Posted On : September 8th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, (2019)

One of my friends studied at NIT Trichy. According to him, there is no specific college uniform that has been prescribed for NIT Trichy except for labs.

  • When you visit a lab on the campus, you will have to wear a khaki uniform that is used by the lab.
  • The lab faculty will tell you about it during your first visit to the lab.
  • For the dress code, NIT Trichy has mentioned for the students to follow decent and formal dressing manners in the campus in their students’ code of conduct.
  • And in hostel rules and regulations, NIT Trichy has mentioned that the students should not wear a sleeveless dress while coming to the mess area.

The dress code that is usually followed for classes include Formal shirt/pants or collared T-shirts. Collarless T-shirts and tracks are not allowed.

Should I choose BITS Goa or NIT K/W/T?

SB
Saumita Banerjee Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

BITS Goa is better than NIT K/W/T.

  • A great factor about BITS is the process of admission is executed based on the merit of the candidates, and not based on the system of reservation which is being followed by many institutions in India.
  • The institution has adopted the curriculum of the courses from MIT.
  • The student crowd is very good at BITS.
  • My friend is a graduate of the institution and claims that the infrastructure of the college campus is among the best in India.
  • The placement of the institution is also extremely good in comparison with many IITs and NITs of India. The placement statistics of BITs Goa are mentioned in the table below for reference.
Particulars Salary/ Statistics (2020)
Average Package offered INR 24.8 Lakhs per annum
Highest Package offered INR 43.3 Lakhs per annum
Major recruiters  Amazon, Oyo, Synchrony

Lastly, the choice is yours. You should do thorough research about all these institutions, and choose based on your interests.
