I wouldn't suggest you go for ECE IIT Roorkee unless you are genuinely interested in that field and want to pursue a career in it.
Placement-wise, IIT Bombay is clearly the winner, followed by IIT Delhi with IIIT Hyderabad and BITS Pilani almost similar

Courses: Course-wise too, IIT Bombay wins the race accompanied by IIT Delhi, IIIT Hyderabad, and BITS Pilani subsequently.
International competitions: The order remains the same except BITS scores better than IIIT Hyderabad in this aspect.
Startup culture: The startup culture too is best at IIT Bombay, then IIT Delhi followed by BITS and Hyderabad.
\Alumni: IIT Bombay has the highest number of successful alumni across the globe after which stands IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani, and finally IIIT Hyderabad.
I don’t think it’s logical to compare extremely old and government-funded IITs with private institutes like BITS and IIIH. The alumni reach is also incomparable.
If you haven't received a branch in IIT Mandi or any of the old IITs for Electrical, don't even take a second thought about joining new IITs like ISM or BHU. The name "IIT" doesn't matter, it's the brand and quality that matters. And in this matter, BITS is way ahead of any new IIT/ISM/BHU.
Don't go for new IITs under the false impression that "They are also IITs." Ultimately, your career matters, not what anyone else thinks.
The name of the college is just one factor to consider when choosing a college. The quality of education, the faculty, the facilities, the placements, and other such factors are equally important. So, don't make a decision solely based on the name of the college.
Also, keep in mind that BITS Pilani has a great reputation and offers excellent opportunities for students. It has a strong alumni network, good industry connections, and a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. So, if you have the opportunity to join BITS Pilani for ENI, go for it without any hesitation.
Don't get swayed by the name of the college. Instead, focus on the quality of education and the opportunities that the college offers. And if you have the chance to join BITS Pilani, don't even think twice about it.
If you're a working professional seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge in business management while balancing your work and personal commitments, the NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education is the perfect choice for you.
It is highly respected and offers a range of distance learning programs, including distance MBA and PGDM courses, that will enable you to achieve your career goals. Not only are our programs recognized by UGC and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), but they are also accredited by professional bodies such as AIU, AICTE and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The distance learning MBA and PGDM courses are designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of business management and equip you with the skills required to thrive in the corporate world. The courses cover various aspects of business management, including finance, marketing, operations, human resources, and information technology, giving you a well-rounded education in the field.
However, it's important to keep in mind that the success of any distance learning program hinges on your self-discipline and motivation. So if you're prepared to take the next step in your career, it is recommended to consider the NMIMS Global Access School for Continuing Education over NMIMS, BITS Pilani, Symbiosis, or anyone else.
Firstly, you should know that there is no difference in the facilities and reputation of the colleges, Although BITS ranks better as an engineering school. BITS Pilani ranks #30 on NIRF's Engineering rank list and IIIT Allahabad ranks #103 on the same. But you should focus on your monetary capacity in consonance with your future plans before applying.
My cousin studied at IIIT A and the following points are based on his experience:
Here's a table comparing both institutes:
Parameters |
BITS Pilani Mechanical |
IIIT Allahabad IT |
Tuition Fee (INR) |
1.59 per semester |
62,500 |
Average Salary(INR) |
4.5-5 LPA |
20.83 LPA |
Highest Salary(INR) |

Lastly, if you love the mechanical stream and are truly motivated to study Maths and Physics then you must go for it. Mechanical is a vast field as well because you'd learn everything related to mechanical processes and even production scheduling. So clearly check your interests and goals before deciding.
The best would be to go for a B.Tech from BITS Pilani and then an MBA degree from IIM/XLRI etc.
IPM at IIM Indore gives you an IGNOU graduate degree and then a diploma. Even though you will do the last two years together with the PGDM students selected via CAT, you won’t get the same status as them. It will take a couple of years to get acceptance. Additionally, the legality of the course is vaguely defined.
Choosing one of these options also depends on your career orientation. If you want a job in the technical field then doing a B.Tech from BITS Pilani is better. Go for IPM from IIM Indore, only if you are certain you want to get into management job roles.
The MSc. Honours at BITS Pilani is a highly recommended course for every student who is interested in a combination of Science and Engineering. It is an excellent course provided by the institute, with great opportunities for students in various fields. The points below give a brief overview of the course of MSc. Honors provided by BITs Pilani.
Therefore, BITS Pilani provides an appropriate ground to cherish any kind of talent of students, which is a great aspect of the institute.
Having friends studying in both the institutes, I will say go for Great Lakes Gurgaon. The reason behind this is because it is a dedicated management institute. While on the other hand, BITS Pilani only offers this course only as an additional subject.
Great Lakes offer a top-notch faculty and has internationally benchmarked curricula and more. It is closely related and has tie-ups with the top-tier MNCs, making it several steps easier to keep a good pace in terms of placement records every year.
Although, here are some key points of differences between both institutes,
Institutes |
Great Lakes, Gurgaon |

First of all, you need to understand what you want. Do you want higher education or a placement? Then ask yourself whether you want only computer science because you love the subject or simply because you want a good placement.

ENI and ECE are technically different branches but they are almost the same. Except for the high fee of BITS Pilani, I do not feel BITS Pilani or Goa campus is anything less worthwhile than NIT Calicut. In fact, if you want only placements, then BITS Pilani any campus should be your choice.
Among the given options, BITS Pilani CSE is relatively better. Here is why.
As for the difficulty level of the curriculum, it’s entirely subjective.
