I have already taken admission in Meghnad Saha institute of technology under my WBJEE rank. Is there now any chance of getting admission in Heritage?

Only recently, one of my friends secured admission at Heritage Institute of Technology after attempting for admission at Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management. Given his situation, it is safe to say that the issue shall be considered the same even if you arrive from Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology.

Following his visit to Heritage Institute of Technology, IEM and Techno India Salt lake, he opted to take admission at the former. The institute rather mentioned that their reporting session was completed, however, if there was a following vacancy and if the student could fulfill the criteria of the branch, then the institute would directly approach them for further admission processes.

It is best that you extract similar information from the administration office to have appropriate knowledge about the same.

How is CSE or IT in Calcutta University, compared to the same branches at Heritage Institute of Technology?

TG

If you're considering pursuing a degree in engineering or science, it's important to understand the differences between various institutions and the programs they offer. Here's what you need to know about HITK, CU, and The Heritage College:

  • HITK: This institution offers a four-year B.Tech. degree program that is affiliated with MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT). The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering concepts and prepare them for careers in various industries.
  • CU: CU, on the other hand, offers a three-year B.Sc. degree program. While it's not directly comparable to HITK's B.Tech. program, it's still worth noting that the two programs have different structures and focus on different areas of study.
  • The Heritage College: This institution offers a B.Sc. degree program that is affiliated with CU. The program is designed to provide students with a broad foundation in science and prepare them for careers in various fields.

It's important to note that comparing these institutions and programs directly is not necessarily productive, as each one has its own strengths and weaknesses. However, if you're trying to decide which program is right for you, here are some factors to consider:

  • Curriculum: Take a close look at the curriculum for each program and consider whether it aligns with your interests and career goals.
  • Affiliation: Consider whether the program is affiliated with a reputable university or institution.
  • Duration: Consider the length of each program and whether it fits with your timeline and schedule.
  • Focus: Consider the focus of each program and whether it aligns with your interests and career goals.

In conclusion, when comparing HITK, CU, and The Heritage College, it's important to consider the unique strengths and weaknesses of each program and institution, rather than trying to make direct comparisons. This will help you make an informed decision about which program is right for you.

Which is better the Heritage Institute of Technology for CSE or JU for printing engineering?

DS
Darshan Sethi Posted On : April 6th, 2023
Studied at Heritage Institute of Technology

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) for CSE:

  • HIT is a well-known engineering college in Kolkata, offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, including Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
  • The CSE department at HIT is known for its experienced faculty, good infrastructure, and strong industry connections, which provide good placement opportunities to students.
  • HIT is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), and is approved by AICTE.

Jadavpur University (JU) for Printing Engineering:

  • JU is a well-reputed public university in Kolkata, offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields, including Printing Engineering.
  • The Printing Engineering department at JU is known for its experienced faculty, well-equipped labs, and research facilities.
  • JU is ranked among the top engineering colleges in India and is known for its academic excellence, research output, and strong alumni network.

In terms of deciding between these two institutes, you should consider the following:

  • Your personal interests and career goals: If you are passionate about computer science and want to pursue a career in software development, HIT's CSE program may be a better fit for you. If you are interested in the printing and publishing industry and want to pursue a career in that field, JU's Printing Engineering program may be a better choice.
  • Your academic background: If you have a strong background in computer science or related subjects, you may find HIT's CSE program more suitable. If you have a background in printing technology or related fields, you may find JU's Printing Engineering program more relevant.
  • Placement opportunities: Both institutes have good placement records, but you should research the types of companies that recruit from each program and the job opportunities available to graduates.

The decision depends on your individual preferences and goals. It's always a good idea to do your own research, speak with current students or alumni, and visit the campus to get a better understanding of what each program and institute offers.

Is Civil Engineering from Heritage Institute of Technology a good option?

MJ
Mahima Jain Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
Studied Civil Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata

Before jumping to the conclusion, let us understand all the aspects of the college which can make you feel that it is good for you or not.

  • Ragging – There is absolutely no ragging on the campus except for some fun interactions and are actually good ways to build up a rapport with them. Physical or mental assault is absolutely not permitted on campus.
  • Education – The college has an adequate number of professors but the problem lies in having “good” professors. No doubt that they are highly qualified and are highly educated but they cannot deliver the same in an interesting way
  • Placement – Hardly one or two companies come for core civil engineering jobs and the rest of others offer IT sector or sales and marketing jobs. There are many students who happily take them but if you are one who wants to do a job in a core civil engineering company then it is really difficult.

Other than that Heritage Institute of Technology is a good college. If you have no problem with the above-mentioned things then it is a very good choice otherwise it may not look so attractive to you.

Can I get a CSE in Heritage Institute of Technology with 3,870 rank in WBJEE? I got ECE there in round 1, should I risk it and go for round 2?

SB
Sushant Baghael Posted On : September 28th, 2021
B.Tech from Heritage Institute of Technology,Kolkata (2021)

With a rank of 3870, your prospects of receiving CSE at Heritage are very good. According to the 2021 cutoff trends, the required cutoff for the branch was 3214.

If you have got ECE in the first round of counseling there is no risk entering into the 2nd round as you will not lose your allocated seat. Additionally, you cannot lock your seat in the first round. This option is available only after the second round of counseling.

The bottom line is that once you've been allocated a college and a major, it can’t be taken away. It will only be upgraded if someone above you does not enroll in the college or the course to which they have been assigned. CSE is available and is simple to obtain. Also, I believe there is no risk factor; therefore, you may keep your seat and proceed to the second round of counseling.

Which is the better college Heritage Institute of Technology or Academy of Technology?

AH
Arjun Haldar Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology,Kolkata, graduated in 2020

Heritage Institute of Technology would be a better choice. Since it has become autonomous, it has advantages over institutes that are under WBUT.

  • Heritage will provide you very good exposures in both from the academic and the industrial point of view.
  • You will also be aided in your research and project oriented internships from the faculty.
  • It is one of the best institutes for pursuing engineering not only in Kolkata but in West Bengal.
  • The environment of HIT is also excellent for studies.
Categories Heritage Institute of Technology
Course Fee 4.04 lakh
Placement Percentage 80%
Highest CTC 21-24 LPA
Average CTC 12-15 LPA
Lowest CTC Tech Mahindra, TCS, Oracle, HCL, etc.

A lot of my friends studied there and they are very satisfied with the education and training they received. So it is suggested that you go for Heritage Institute of Technology.

Are class notes enough to secure at least a 9 GPA at Heritage Institute of Technology in the 1st year of ECE?

YJ
Yashpal Jain Posted On : September 6th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (2021)

Yes, they are enough but only if you do not miss a single class, and are very serious about every assignment and internal mark.

Your professors and seniors would definitely suggest you the reference books and you should their advice. Everything is not about marks. You should have surplus knowledge about your subjects which brings completeness into the course.

Due to time limitations, everything cannot be taught in the class. Also, engineering is beyond your semester syllabus.

What placement offers (with LPA) I can get apart from mass recruiters like TCS in the IT branch of Heritage Institute of Technology?

SM
Saurav Mishra Posted On : September 14th, 2021

One of my friends graduated from Heritage Institute of Technology and according to him, the placements for Heritage Institute of Technology are not that great.

IT students receive an average CTC of around 3-3.6 LPA. Around 78% of students get placed each year. The highest CTC offered last year was 8 LPA.

Other than TCS, some of the major recruiters at the institute are Infosys, Wipro, Cred, Mindtree, Vedanta, etc. A few core companies also visit the campus placement to recruit IT students.

Do Heritage Institute of Technology students go for summer internships? If so, then where?

SP
Suranjana Palit Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
B.Tech Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata (2018)

Yes, there are internship opportunities available in Heritage Institute of Technology and they do go to different places for internship purposes. But where they go depends on the student's choices and what they are interested in. And most of these internships also carry a stipend component.

  • If you are interested in doing academic research, then you can look for opportunities in laboratories, Universities and R&D organisations.
  • If you are interested in working for a company or an organisation, then you can join them as a Summer Associate, Summer Intern, Summer Analyst.
  • There are various other options available too.
  • You can also intern for social welfare organisations and this can be very beneficial for you if you want to add some co-curricular tag in your resume and make it more appealing.
  • A student interested in research has done two internships during 2nd and 3rd year.
  • One at Centre for Advanced Research in Electronics at IIT Delhi and the next at Secured Embedded Architecture Laboratory in IIT Kharagpur.
  • The process of getting an internship generally takes a long time and it may take around 3 months to revert back to your email by the summer advisor and then a video session may also be conducted before your final approval for joining their team.
  • These internships will last for around 8-10 months, so before joining them plan your schedule accordingly and take out around 1-2 months from your semester to complete your internship.

Hence, there are several kinds of internship opportunities available in this college and most of these internships are paid, so you will also get some money along with work experience.
