New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Delhi has received a letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorating the completion of 8 years of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

IIT Delhi tweeted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has acknowledged the work of #IITDelhi as the national coordinating institute in his message on the completion of 08 years of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
In his message, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji mentioned, "Unnat Bharat Abhiyan portrays the strength and the huge potential of our college and university and provide a roadmap on how the strengths can be channelized to move the country towards making an AtmaNirbhar Bharat”.

According to the institute's another tweet, the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is an initiative that is playing the role of an enabler in transitioning the rural landscape.
The Abhiyan is pivotal in leveraging the intent and energy of our talented minds to devise solutions to accelerate sustainable and holistic growth of rural India, the tweet said.
PM Modi has mentioned in the letter that the role of IIT Delhi as the national coordinating institute under the scheme deserves appreciation and praise.
The prime minister expressed his best wishes and appreciation to everyone engaged with the initiative and the Ministry of Education, IIT Delhi and other institutions, as well as other stakeholders.
The letter revealed the PM saying that the completion of eight years of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of IIT Delhi is a monumental occasion.
In his written message, PM Modi has stated that education and knowledge are the pillars which support the nation's progress, the initiative strives to make India a knowledge hub and to empower the higher education institutions to play a pivotal role in nation-building.
When it comes to rural development, it is believed that 'ATMA Gaon ki, Suvidha Sheher ki' facilities that empower aspiration and boost ease of living are reaching and serving the villages, Modi said in his letter.
The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a programme that is facilitating changes to the rural environment. The Abhiyan is essential for maximising the motivation and drive of the bright minds as they develop strategies to hasten rural India's sustainable and all-encompassing growth.
