The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is all set to conduct the CLAT 2020 on September 28 adhering to all the safety standards. The exam will be conducted through a center-based online test. NUJS has also appointed observers to examine whether the authorities are implementing safety measures or not.
As per the revised guidelines issued by NLUs, students who have been tested positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to appear for CLAT 2020. Candidates have to bring a self-health declaration form to the exam centres without which the entry will not be permitted.

NUJS Vice-Chancellor Nirmal Kanti Chakraborty said, "A checklist will be provided to each observer". CLAT 2020 is being organized by TCS-iON, which also conducted JEE Main on behalf of NTA.
The exam will be conducted from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall 15 minutes after the exam starts.

CLAT 2020: Guidelines for COVID Positive Candidates
The Supreme Court on Monday allowed a suspected COVID-19 positive aspirant to take the entrance test in a separate isolation room hours before the scheduled beginning of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)-2020.
The bench consisting of Justices R Subhash Reddy and M R Shah stated that the student should ensure that any other non-symptomatic person should submit a downloaded copy of this order to his Centre Superintendent as early as possible.
'When such an order is issued, the Centre Superintendent shall provide the applicant with a separate room to appear during the examination.
The applicant shall enter the centre upon the entry of other applicants and shall first leave the examination centre,' it stated.
The high court said that the Centre Superintendent may also ask the District Chief Medical Officer or the Government Hospital Superintendent to provide medical staff with the necessary assistance.
The student argued that although COVID-19 symptomatic candidates will be assigned to an isolated room as per the admit card issued to him, the Consortium of NLUs has issued instructions that candidates who have been tested positive and are under medical surveillance or in isolation will not be allowed to take the CLAT 2020 examination.
CLAT 2020: Increase in Exam Centres
The authorities have assigned a single exam centre to Bengal and Kolkata candidates - TCS Gitobitan at Sector V, Salt Lake. Close to 3,000 candidates are expected to take CLAT 2020 in Bengal, out of which 2,000 are to appear in Kolkata.
Earlier, CLAT 2020 was conducted only in Kolkata and Siliguri. Looking at the prevailing pandemic situation, the exam centres have been increased to maintain the safe social distance and ensure that students don't have to travel long distances. Now the count of centres stands at 9 which includes Kalyani, Howrah, Hooghly, Asansol, Durgapur, Barasat and Barrackpore.

CLAT 2020: Safety Protocols to be followed
- Staff members with Thermo Guns will be present at the entry of each exam centre
- Cleaning staff, centre administrators and invigilators with face masks and hand gloves will be deployed
- Spray machines with disinfectant liquid will be used to sanitize exam centres
- Hand sanitizers will be provided at each exam centres
- Candidates have to carry their own masks, gloves, sanitizers, and bottles of water.
- Separate entry and exit gates have been earmarked and the route to the lab has been mapped so that there is no crowding at any point before or after the exam.
The official notice released by the exam conducting authority clearly mentions that any candidate found copying/receiving/ giving assistance will be disqualified. Possession and use of incriminating material for the purpose of the test amounts to malpractice.
There will be a total 150 questions for UG candidates and 120 questions for PG candidates. Candidates are advised to be careful while attempting the questions, as there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Check CLAT 2020 Exam Pattern
