IIT Tirupati PG and PhD Admission 2022 Open; Apply till April 18

New Delhi: IIT Tirupati has started admissions for postgraduate and PhD programs for the academic year 2022. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form at the official portal, iittp.ac.in. 

IIT Tirupati is inviting applications for M.Sc, MS (Research), Master of Public Policy (MPP) and PhD for July 2022 semester. Candidates seeking admission to these programmes can submit their applications till April 18, 2022. The institute has also planned to commence classes from August 1, 2022.

IIT Tirupati Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to IIT Tirupati courses are required to meet the specific eligibility criteria, as provided below:

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc:

IIT Tirupati offers M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Statistics. The admission to the course is through Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). 

Eligibility Criteria for MS Research: 

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s Degree (M.Sc / MCA etc.) in the relevant discipline with a valid GATE score.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech: 

• Candidates must have qualified in GATE 2022, 2021 or 2020 and they must have pursued either a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology from educational institutions approved by AICTE/ Government.
• Candidates yet to appear or have appeared in the final examination for the qualifying degree specified and whose results are likely to be declared by July, 2022. 
• Candidates graduating/ graduated from IITs with B.Tech Degree and having CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without a valid GATE Score. 

Eligibility Criteria for MPP:

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree (after 10+2) or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university/ institute.
• Candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General /OBC/ EWS category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks and for the SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree.

Selection Process for MS Research:

• The Selection Committee will call the eligible candidates possessing the minimum educational qualifications and satisfying additional and stiffer criteria set from time to time, for an interview ewand/or test.
• Based on the academic record and the performance of the candidates in the interview and/or test, 
• The Selection Committee will recommend to the Chairman, Senate the names of candidates found suitable for admission.

Selection Process for MPP:

• Admission to the MPP programme at IIT Tirupati will be done through two tracks:
• Track 1: Candidates who have taken the GATE exam and have valid GATE exam scores
• Track 2: Candidates who don't have a valid GATE score, who will only be considered for one track at a time during an admission year. These two tracks will be treated separately for the generation of the final merit list. 

Selection Process for M.Tech:

• Admission to M.Tech will be based on GATE scores and academic qualifications.
• Candidates pursuing MTech from IIT Tirupati will be eligible for up-gradation to Ph.D. if they successfully completed a minimum of 2 semesters in the M. Tech with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 in the prescribed courses.

• Visit the official application portal of IIT Tirupati, iitp.ac.in.
• Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.
• Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.
• Pay the application fee of INR 400 and submit the Application form. 
• Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
