New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Patna has announced the commencement of the classes for the new B.Tech. and B.S. batch for the academic session 2022-23. A total of 585 Seats have been allocated across 9 undergraduate B. Tech./BS programmes.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSSA) has released the final and sixth round of seat allotment for enrollment in IITs and other institutes. This year, a total of 585 students have been allotted seats in 9 B. Tech./BS undergraduate programmes offered at IIT Patna.
Students from 22 states, including Bihar, have applied to IIT Patna. Of these, 111 are from Uttar Pradesh, 95 are from Bihar, 71 are from Telangana, 49 are from Rajasthan, 40 are from Andhra Pradesh, 33 are from Maharashtra, 27 are from Madhya Pradesh, 23 are from West Bengal, and 19 are from the Delhi NCR.
In addition to the date that classes for B.Tech programmes will begin, IIT Patna has also released the date for orientation, welcoming the IIT Patna's undergraduate freshers.

The students who have been assigned to IIT Patna by JoSAA 2022, must report to the institute on November 4, 2022. There will be orientation and oriental activities between November 5 and 10, 2022, and the regular classes will begin from November 11, 2022.
The starting rank for students who applied to IIT Patna this year is 1451 in the Computer Science Department, which is an improvement of 358 ranks from last year, when the first applicant's All India Rank for Computer Science was 1849.
