GB Pant College to Receive Constituent College Status: Manish Sisodia


New Delhi: On November 05, 2020, Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia announced G.B. Pant Engineering College will receive the status of Constituent College of Skills and Entrepreneurship University. 

During a meeting with the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Mr. Manish Sisodia declared the new status of G.B. Pant Engineering College. New courses will also be introduced at G.B. Pant Engineering College for short-term, long-term, diploma, degree, and Ph.D. programs.

Deputy Chief Minister announcement was made due to the recent hunger strike protest of GB Pant Engineering College students over no admission this year.

Mr. Sisodia discussed the G.B. Pant Engineering College’s newly short-term and long-term goals in detail during the meeting with the Directorate of Higher Education. He also emphasized the newly acclaimed varsity’s main goal to enroll at least 1000 students annually.

Deputy Chief Minister further stated, “The purpose of establishing this Constituent College of Skills and Entrepreneurship University is to fix the existing gaps in this country by upskilling students and readying future-entrepreneurs of this country.”

World-Class Skill Centres will be established in the university to provide skill-based training and degrees. Besides, the newly claimed university name will also cater to the needs of G.B. Govt. Pant Engineering College students by identifying future-centric jobs.

The minister at DHE directed the G.B. Govt. Pant Engineering College officials to develop the enrolling capacity of the university. At least 1.25 lakh students shall be enrolled in the varsity from the coming years.

The Constituent College of Skills and Entrepreneurship University will also focus on preparing the students by guiding them to face the challenges in the world. 

Newly introduced courses will be created in tandem with the skill requirements of different types of jobs with the help of the research team's market outreach.
