New Delhi: Gauhati University is inviting applications for its postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, gauhati.ac.in. The last date to apply is July 7, 2022. 

Gauhati University offers a total of almost 57 different programmes in various specialisations including commerce, arts, computer applications, sciences, engineering and various other. 

Admissions to the PG courses of Gauhati University are granted on the basis of the scores obtained in the PGCET entrance exam. The entrance examination will be held for a duration of two hours and will consist of both MCQ and descriptive-type questions. 

This year, the varsity has scheduled to conduct the PGET 2022 between July 19 and 21, 2022, at 11 PGET exam centres located in Guwahati, Barpeta, Shillong, Dhubri, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, Itanagar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Diphu and Silchar for admission in Gauhati University PG courses.

Gauhati University PG Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

The university offers MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed & LL.M in various disciplines at postgraduate level. 

Eligibility Criteria for MTech: 

• Candidates must hold a B.Tech degree in relevant specialization with 50% marks in General Category and 45% marks for reserved categories.

Eligibility Criteria for MA:

• Candidates should hold a B.A./B.Sc. (in the 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) degree with a Major/ Honors Course in a relevant field. or they should hold a B.A./B.Sc. Degree with a general/pass course with 45% in aggregate CGPA as well as in relevant subjects. 

Eligibility Criteria for M.Ed: 

• Candidates should be B.Ed degree holders from a recognized university.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Li.Sc: 

• Candidates should have a B.Li.Sc degree from recognised university 

Eligibility Criteria for LL.M: 

• Candidates must hold an LL.B degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any university.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc: 

• Candidates must have pursued B.A./B.Sc. (in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) degree with a Major/ Honors Course in the relevant subject. OR they should be B.A./B.SC. (in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) holders with a General/ Pass Course with at least 45% marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Com: 

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate from recognized boards.

• Admission to all the PG courses is done based on the candidates’ performance in the qualifying examination and the scores obtained in the PGET conducted by the university. 
• Gauhati University also offers admission to M.Com integrated on the basis of a valid score on the PGET. 
• 50% of seats in the M.Tech program will be filled by GATE qualified candidates. While the university will conduct an entrance exam for the remaining 50% seats. 
• The university will publish a merit list on its official website. Candidates whose names are featured in the merit list should report to the University, submit documents and fees to confirm their admission.

Gauhati University PG Admission 2022: How to Apply?

Candidates need to register themselves first with a working email ID and phone number, then fill and submit the entire Gauhati University application form followed by uploading documents and paying the requisite application fee. 

• Step 1: Visit the official application portal of Gauhati University @gauhati.ac.in. 
• Step 2: Register yourself after filling in the required details, such as Mobile Number, Email Id etc.
• Step 3: Now, log in with your registration credentials and fill in all details in the Application form.
• Step 4: Pay the application fee of INR 400 and submit the Application form. 
• Step 5: Applicants must also take a printout of the form for all future needs.
