In order to apply for NIFT 2015 entrance examination candidates have to fulfill certain eligibility criteria.

Maximum age limit is 23 years by October 1, 2014 for general candidates. For students belonging to SC/ST/PH there is relaxation of five years of age.

 Bachelor of Design/ Bachelor of fashion technology

  • Candidate need to have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized board or university.

or

  • Else candidate must have General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).

or

  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.

or

  • A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

or

  • 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

For master programmes there is no age barrier. No upper age limit for the students interested in pursuing post graduate courses.

Academic qualification required for master courses is as follows:-

Master of Design

  • Candidates must have Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognized by law in India.
  • Else they must have Diploma in UG Design from NIFT/NID and Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.

Master of Fashion technology

Candidate must have done Bachelor of Fashion Technology from NIFT or B.E/ B. Tech from any recognized university or board.

Master of Fashion management

Interested students must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or undergraduate diploma from an institute recognized by law.

Students who are appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply but their admission is subject to the condition that they have to provide certificate at the time of counseling.

In case they do not have degree or certificate during admission, they will not be entitled to get through.
