DU Admissions 2022: Over 15,200 Students Take Admission in Second Merit List

New Delhi: Delhi University has completed the admission against the second merit list 2022. Around 9,439 applicants who received seats in the first round of admission were upgraded to the college and course of their choice in the second list.

More than 15,200 applicants received admission to various Delhi University colleges in the second round of seat allocation, a senior university official reported on Thursday.

In the first round of admission, 9,439 of the 15,200 applicants received places; in the second merit list, they were upgraded to the college and course of their choice.

Haneet Gandhi, the DU Dean of Admission, informed PTI that "as many as 15,236 students who were awarded seats in the second list have confirmed their seats and submitted the payments."

The second round of seat allocation is currently accepting applications. The institution has started the application process for more than 70,000 seats from September. 59,100 applicants received seats in the DU's initial round of seat distribution. All 15,398 candidates have accepted their seats in the preliminary round.

The application procedure for admission to DU Colleges, which started from September 12, 2022 is divided into three stages: Applying to the university through the official website was the first step. Preference filling and seat allotment-cum-admission were the second and third stages. Delhi University is now accepting students based on their CUET scores rather than their Class 12 grades this year. The university published its admission-cum-allocation policy, the CSAS, on September 12.

Three steps are involved in admission through the CSAS: submitting the application form, choosing the preffered programmes and indicating the candidate’s preferences, and seat allocation and admission.
