How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?
“Leaving no stones unturned for the betterment of our students”
With the government's commitment to raising the number of airports in India to 250 by the end of 2024, the need for licensed AME's has immensely increased. The aviation industry is expected to grow in leaps and bounds, not only in India but across the globe. With leading civil aviation service providers as our training partners, we make sure that our students not only witness the growth of the aviation industry but also contribute to the growth of the industry.
How does the curriculum of WIIA ensures the best practice of industry?
“Following the DGCA curriculum and widening the practical training”
WIIA strictly follows norms laid down by DGCA, which is the ultimate authority when it comes to aviation education in India. In the current situations where the degrees are becoming obsolete but the skills that you develop stay with you. WIIA does justice to academia while also focusing on skill development. Especially in a field like AME, we must balance the practical and theoretical exposure, and this is reiterated at all levels within WIIA.

Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?
“Opening up opportunities for students irrespective of their background”
WIIA is making sure that it remains to be a leading institution proving our students with world-class infrastructure and global learning experience. WIIA is here to bridge this gap of qualified professionals that the booming industry needs by not only educating the students with the theoretical knowledge but also giving them the correct amount of practical training and industry exposure. The institute provides complete assistance during the course and also assists for on job the training along with attaining the DGCA – AME license as well.
What was your vision for the institute? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?
“Persistently trying to create awareness among students regarding this field”
Having started as a small institute in Hansol, near Ahmedabad Airport, to becoming a full-fledged institute with global relevance, WIIA has evolved substantially. However, this being a niche field, awareness related to the various opportunities within the industry and required qualification is highly restricted. Also, falling under the DGCA, though the students have a promising career ahead of them, the lack of a formal degree was a hindrance. The students were hesitant when it came to opting for this course. To combat this, WIIA collaborated with Indus University, and we now offer a DGCA AME certificate along with UGC, which is BSc. Honors degree for AME students to get the best of both worlds.
What do you see as WIIA’s greatest strengths?
“Making sure that the students have what they need to excel in the industry”
From the historic fighter Jet Sukhoi to the contemporary mechanism of Boeing at the campus, we at WIIA are dedicated to giving our students a learning experience like none other. Our infrastructure with all modern amenities such as smart classrooms and library with extensive reading material, combined with the avionics lab, engine room, landing gear, and live aircraft such as Zenith CH 2000, Lear Jet 24, and Boeing 737-200 are the perfect fit for any ambitious student wanting to excel in the aviation field.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“ingrain resilience so strong that it enables you to conquer the sky”
I strongly believe that there can be no shortcuts to success. With WIIA and AME, what can be assured is that young minds stand an opportunity to attain success within a relatively short period, by putting in a substantial amount of hard work. Train yourself religiously enough to be able to accomplish all your visions.
