How do you ensure best quality education and training for students of your college?

"By giving them best quality classroom learning and practical exposure through hospital visits"

The students are given a classroom teaching initially, which is later combined with lab experiments to strengthen students' concepts and after that students are exposed to the clinics and Hospitals so that they can earn knowledge about real time scenarios and simultaneously use their learned knowledge to treat patients.

Which initiatives or programs have been implemented successfully in your college under your supervision?

"We had recently organized a national level conference for students in our college"

We had received financial assistance of Rs.25000/- from Trained Nurses Association of India for continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programs and we have used the received amount to organize national level conferences in our campus itself for students benefits and to make them aware about ground level situations and how exactly people and processes work together in a healthcare sector to give best treatment to patients.

How do you strategies the curriculum of your college to make it compliant with changing needs of the healthcare industry?

"We regularly update ourselves about latest trends and consider them thoroughly while designing the curriculum"

Our college's curriculum is focused on making students technically competent and proficient in students, improving their critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills and lastly on teaching them about best strategies and safety standards to follow while treating patients and ways to handle culturally diverse people. Apart from this, we regularly encourage students to practice self-learning so that at the end of the course, they will be fully equipped to serve the society and healthcare centers. And to make our curriculum industry compliant, we keep ourselves updated with latest happenings and development of both industrial and healthcare sectors and rigorously analyze society and corporate requirements while designing and updating the curriculum.

"Teachers are enlightened about college through orientation sessions"

We organize an orientation session to make our newly joined faculty members educate about our college, courses we offer and syllabus which needs to be completed under each course along with our rules and regulations and the way we operate.

What challenges have you faced as a principal while improving the education quality of your college?

"Students inattentiveness and lack of commitment towards their studies is a real challenge for us"

Unlike other professions, Nursing requires self-discipline, punctuality and self-sacrifice in connection with time, energy and entertainment, but our present generation is very reluctant to forgo any of the above for patient care. And if I specifically talk about my college, so here also many of our students have joined the Nursing courses out of peer or parental pressure and due to the lucrative job opportunities this field offers, so there is a lack of dedication and commitment in them towards their studies and when they are exposed to treat patients, which is not at all tolerable as per the requirements of this noble profession. So this is the only major hurdle in front of us which we need to tackle on an earliest basis.

How do you update yourself and your faculty members about the latest developments and trends of nursing education?

"By interacting with reputed Nursing associations, councils and our fellow faculties on a regular basis"

We connect with the Trained Nurses Association of India, Indian Nursing Council and Principals Group on a regular basis to get updates about the latest happenings, trends, developments and technologies that are being used in education and healthcare sectors.

How does your college prepare students to serve a diverse range of society people?

"We regularly motivate our students to treat everyone equally and protect patients rights in worst cases"

India is a nation with a wide range of culture, beliefs and practices and being a nurse it sometimes becomes challenging to give equal care and respect to people in accordance with their religious beliefs and practices. But we prepare our students for the worst case scenarios and regularly encourage them to treat everyone with the same respect and care who comes to them for treatment. In addition to this, students are equipped with the best technical and behavioral skills to work effectively and efficiently in both the private or public sector so that they can take independent decisions in situations where protection of patients rights is of foremost importance.
