Mr. Varun Ganjir is the Registrar at Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University (SRU), Raipur. He got his Master’s in business administration from Maharashtra Institute of Technology in Pune. With a long career in academics in different institutes, he has maintained a keen interest in the education industry and its development. Previously he has been associated with various noticeable institutes in Chhattisgarh, at top positions.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“My deep-rooted love for the education industry since several years”

My interest has always been in the education sector, I always wanted to make a career in the education field. The thing that keeps me connected to this sector is the joy of educating someone.

As a Registrar, what is your philosophy of leadership?

“To work with & motivate everyone irrespective of their social or economic background”

As you know, Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University was founded in 2018 by Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Lok Kalyan Trust, our main motto is to educate each and everyone regardless of their financial circumstances.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“A diverse crowd of talented minds supported by financial aid”

We support all kinds of students, doesn’t matter if they belong to an urban area or a rural area. Our University is the only university located near the Bastar district, and we try our level best to support the financially weak students coming from that area.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“To act as a connecting pathway between students & college authority groups”

As the registrar, I have a big role to play at the university. If a student faces any kind of problem and they’re unable to contact higher authorities then they come to me, I can be the bridge between the students and the higher authorities. As for the University, my role is to work towards enhancement of management and administration. 

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To develop a strong digital teaching module suitable for the current changing times”

Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, there’s been a dynamic shift in the operations of our University. Nowadays everyone is learning through an online class from their home, everyone is leading a digital life. In further 10 years, digitalization will increase tenfold and, in my opinion, it will help students who live in remote areas and cannot attend university physically. Our priority should be developing a robust digital teaching structure. People who cannot attend university due to some other reasons like illness will also benefit from better online teaching.

What would you like people to know about your university that they may not know?

“With a strong foundation in yoga, we aim to improve the overall lifestyle of the students”

As you know, Shri Rawatpura Sarkar University is a new University, it was established in April of 2018. We offer multiple courses and degrees but what people might not know is that we have a strong foundation in Yoga and we promote it. We believe in today’s scenario, Yoga can really help students lead a healthier lifestyle. Also, we are in the process of developing industrial oriented courses that will help students gain practical knowledge and job skills and lead them to accomplish their career goals.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Practical implementation of the theoretical knowledge is important”

My suggestion to current students is that they should be practical, don’t go for theoretical knowledge only, practical knowledge is more important.
