What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“The development of a nation is shaped by teachers and their dedication to this field”

I consider the education sector as a noble profession and it is very dear to me. The job of a teacher is highly impactful for a developing and evolving society. Teachers are the conscience keepers and shapers of society. When you enter an educational institution, you feel motivated and invigorated. That keeps me connected with the education sector more than anything else.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Collaborative and inclusive operational practices are important in academic setup”

I believe that collective and inclusive leadership is very good for an education institution. Being a part of a University, one needs to get the involvement of all the stakeholders. This includes students, teachers, parents, Non-teaching staff, university administrators and society at large. The engagement and involvement of all the stakeholders is the crucial factor.

How do you plan the marketing and administration of your school?

“Wide publicity is received through news items in local newspapers and social programs, websites”

  • The Department of Management conducts various professional programs such as MBA, MCA, Integrated BCA-MCA, PGDHAM (Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management & Administration) PGDHSM (Post Graduate Diploma in Health Services Management), Mphil, Ph.D. and MBA (part-time).
  • The department has an enrolment of more than 500 students who primarily come from the rural hinterland of Marathwada and the Vidarbha region.
  • We admit the students through the CET of Maharashtra Government Admission Regulatory Authority for MBA and MCA programs.
  • The programs receive wide publicity throughout the year with a range of programs and events being conducted at the university and its affiliated colleges.
  • The website of the university receives thousands of hits everyday, which in itself is an important tool of marketing for us.

How does the curriculum at this University ensure the best practice of industry?

“A galaxy of academicians, Alumni and industry experts to go through the curriculum and redesign the courses”

The Department of Management Science enjoys the autonomy of curriculum design and we fully use the privilege to make several updates. The most important factors we keep in mind are the requirements of industry and the capabilities of the students. Several professionals, industry managers and entrepreneurs are involved in curriculum design. In this sense, we are very fortunate that the industry people and entrepreneurs are very enthusiastic and forthcoming in their participation in university matters. Many of them are working on the various Board of Studies, and other committees.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of differentbackground?

“Students from underprivileged sections and rural background are supported immensely by the University”

The university predominantly caters to the youth of the Marathwada and Vidarbha region. A significant number of students are the first generation coming to education. This brings with it a lot of challenges. The university has addressed the issues very well. today our university is home to students of the varied composition of races, castes, religions, economic background, and nationalities. However

What do you think your responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“To be a parent, friend, mentor and guide to the student for their academic transformation”

The role of the teacher is of a motivator and mentor, to handhold the student and enhance their confidence. My role is to understand the needs and initiate step by step from teaching to career and professionalism. Gradually, the student needs to be transformed to become industry and employment-ready.

“A strong sense and motive of social upliftment through educational reforms”

Our greatest strength lies in the overwhelming social engagement it has received over the years. Our university possesses an in-depth understanding of the aspirations of the underprivileged, economically weaker and rural sections of the society. The upliftment of the weaker sections was the moving force behind the great movement by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, father of the Indian constitution.
