Prof. Neelima B Nimbhorkar is working as the Principal of AVK Group of Institutions. She holds various degrees including M.Com, M.Ed, M.Phil, MBA, M.A (Psychology). She has a total of 28 years of work experience working as a Principal, Assistant Professor, Head of the Department and Lecturer. Being a Principal, she mainly focuses on the improvement of individual subjects along with the student’s overall development. Along with this, she has presented and published more than 40 papers in the national, international, UGC Listed and peer-reviewed Journals with ISSN and many more are under process. She has also delivered guest lecturers in several colleges and universities. She has been awarded several best research paper awards.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Passion to share knowledge with youths of our country”

Teaching is my passion. As an educator, I don’t want to restrict myself to only teaching students, but I also want to keep up-skilling and learning the current trends. This constant evolution and engagement with the youth of our country is what keeps me connected to the education sector. Education is all about the next, tomorrow, the future and this is what is exciting about this sector. 


How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your institute?

“We try to connect with our students in every possible way and use various tools for this”

I always focus on understanding the potential of students. We make effective use of various tools to do the marketing of our institute and for that, we prepare eye-catching videos, segment messages to get connected personally with our students, optimize e-mails with artificial intelligence, digital advertising, online reviews.


How does the curriculum of your college is aligned with the best practices of the industry?

“Our curriculum is supported by various training programs and extra-curricular activities”

We inculcate the current teaching practices, appreciate the work done by the staff and motivate them to excel in their areas of expertise. We conduct various programs in our institutes such as soft skills training, internship programs, workshops, exhibitions to excel hidden talents, seminars, FDPs, MDPs and job drives. 


How your college is more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“We do have an amalgamation of students from different communities and religion which itself is a strength for us”

We believe in unity in diversity. We do have students from different religions, races, cultures and economic backgrounds. IAM students get the positive effects of diversity, which enable students to work with people from other races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds and challenge the views they are accustomed to. This leads to greater awareness and understanding in the students.

The biggest strength of our college lies in our vision statement “We educate a child in true sense”. We create avenues for every walk of students to realize their dream and excel in the competitive edge. We also aim at amalgamating all aspects to make the students as true citizens and for this, we are inculcating the true spirit of education by imparting knowledge in the right way.


What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general?

“To maintain quality of education along with ever-changing demands of this competitive world”

In my opinion, there are definitely some challenges we are facing with respect to higher education and a few of them are faulty examination patterns, resource generation for upgradation, quality sustenance along with the access, keeping pace with the rapid changes in higher education, encouraging students for competitive exams and higher studies.


What is the rate of admissions in your college? Has it increased from the last year?

“It varies between 95% to 100%”

The rate of admissions in our institute is generally between 95 – 100%, and yes it has definitely increased from the last year with a 25% increment.


What extra-curricular activities are organized by the college to enhance the skills of the students?

“Various technical and personality developments programs are being organized in college”

We are tied up with several training institutions and companies for skills enhancement and internship programs. We also host on-campus job fairs and placements and many of our students have received job offers from these.


How do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive environment?

“Keep a self-exploring and curious attitude”

Students must encourage themselves towards their self-development, they should learn to make the best and maximum use of their potentials without looking at others should be focused and goal oriented and they should learn to perform and compete in their own way.

“Set realistic goals for yourself and keep learning new things”


Both the youth and students should set reasonable expectations, build and develop their network, participate in different competitions, regain positivity, say yes to things, never stop learning and always listen to yourself.
