With overall 32 years of experience in academic administration and teaching, she has a vast profile of serving as expert member, resource person and Ph.D. guide to many institutions in the country. Besides being the recipient of many national and international awards and scholarships in the field of education, Dr. Arora has worked on many government funded research projects as well.

What do you see as your College’s greatest strengths?

“Constant approaches towards high learning productivity”

Academic excellence and highly trained faculty are our core strengths. We have BBF Beauty and Body Health, a fantastic course sponsored by the Indian government that ensures a proper balance between body and mind, which is critical for growth in life. We also hold a session for our students to discuss their behavioural issues or personal mental health issues they might be experiencing to ensure that their personality growth is not hampered. We also have a dual degree choice with subjects like product architecture, English web design, communication skill development etc. enabling them to learn various topics based on their interests and hobbies.

How would you describe your leadership style?

“Leasing participation and involvement of members”

I am a firm believer in the democratic process in any organization or union. My job as a facilitator and leader should allow making things easier for others. I must ensure full participation and interaction of each member in order to create an atmosphere of faith and transparency. I usually manage tasks by involving and soliciting feedback from all of the team members.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Bringing a holistic development approach”

My prime responsibility towards students is to make sure every student is involved in academic and co-curricular activities and their self-esteem and confidence as an individual is growing. I work forward to inculcate in students more values and morals as a professional work person. Also, I concentrate on each student’s subjective performance making sure that his or her percentage rises at an exponential pace.

How does the curriculum of SD College for women ensure the best practice of industry? 

“Industrial integration of experts and academicians”

We are offering 13 different courses based on student’s interests and professional aspects. We usually plan the syllabus ourselves with the help of industry experts, ensuring that the students get good maximum benefit of innovative learning and better placements internationally. Also through this, students are able to communicate with experts and academic professionals and develop a strong integrity with education. We are providing them opportunities to walk alongside and gain some industrial experience as well.

What would you like people to know about your College they may not know?

SD College for Women first opened its doors in 1974, since then we are ensuring the education is of such high quality that students do not seek expensive private education or private coaching. Along with successful running of classroom culture through most interactive pedagogy, we also pay attention to practical learning and practice sessions so that students gain relevant skills as well. We encourage students to be punctual, dedicated, disciplined and dedicated through these means. Also, we provide instalment plans and cater students from low-income families. 

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Commitment and never give up attitude is all what you need”

My advice for students is to be committed, trustworthy and honest in their work. They should put in a lot of effort because hard work never goes away. Constraints should not hamper you and failures must not be your permanent status. Also, happiness is important, no matter what you get or not, do not complain and be happy.
