Dr. Mohammed Masood has been working as the Principal of ISL Engineering College, Hyderabad, Telangana. He is a renowned scholar, an amazing educationist and a prolific principal who has 24 years of teaching experience in Engineering colleges. He started his career as a Lecturer in MJCET and later joined SWCC-KSA as an Inspection Engineer and after serving SWCC for 4 yrs he returned back to India and joined Mechanical Engineering Department as an Assistant Professor. After this, he joined LIET as a Principal and continued to work at Lords as a Professor and Director of Research and Development. 20 PhD Scholars of 9 Universities have carried out their research work under his guidance and he has published around 40 research papers in various International and National Journals and conferences. In addition to this, he has developed, guided and presented the MJIET successfully for NBA accreditation in 2011 and 2017 and got accreditation for 4 branches. He is a fellow member of the Institution of Engineers, FIE-India Member of the society of Automotive Engineers, USA, Institute-Indian Chapter Member of Indian Society for Tech Education and MISTE.

What challenges have you faced while inculcating new programs in your curriculum?

"Identifying the correct data sets to train models and establishing the latest infrastructure were real issues"

We have faced different kinds of challenges at different levels, but the most prominent ones were determining the right data set, data security and storage options and algorithms to implement the concepts of AI and DS, in integrating AI with other systems and while training models. Apart from this, we have faced hurdles while establishing the required infrastructure to implement these new courses. Because Artificial Intelligence can bring new heights of success for business and we can notice the changes over time only. So by adopting strategic approaches to plan and implement things, we have made the path much easier for everyone.
