Ajenkiya Singh: “General (No reservation)”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Ajenkiya Singh: “There was no GD for CAP in 2019-21. WAT was offline for CAP for the batch of 2019-21. Around 20 minutes were given, there were two topics and 20 minutes were assigned for discussion on each topic. 

1st topic was “Freedom of expression through art and how it is suppressed” and the second topic was about demographic dividend. An A4 sheet was provided to each candidate”.

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Ajenkiya Singh: "One was about freedom of expression through art and how it is suppressed, the other was about demographic dividend”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively? 

Ajenkiya Singh: “I wrote about the topic using the controversy surrounding the movie “Padmavati”. For the demographic dividend, I wrote about the first demographic dividend - the youth of India and the second demographic dividend - about the people aged between 60 to 65 years.”

Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Ajenkiya Singh: “7-8 panels. two members in each panel. faculty members from the nearest IIM of CAP. The interview was offline. The interview duration was 30 mins. not a stressful interview. There was a topic given in the starting to talk about it for 1 minute. and then the discussion moved forward around the topic for some time. Then it moved towards the graduation subject. Few GK questions like colours in the national flag, deputy governor of your state etc were also asked.”

Ques: Tell me about yourself

Ans: gave a one minute prepared answer

Ques: What are your views on women’s reservation?

Ans: Talked about the history of reservation and why we should talk about eliminating discrimination before eliminating reservation

Ques: Deputy governor of your state

Ans: Did not know about it back then, said do not know

Ques: Difference between the efficient estimator and unbiased estimator

Ans: It was related to my graduation subject statistics, gave them the correct answer

Ques: The difference between mean mode and median

Ans: told as per my knowledge”

Ajenkiya Singh: “The reason behind choosing IIM Trichy over IIM Ranchi was because of its own campus.”
