Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Aditya: I had attended both online and offline GDs. There were 8-10 members in each group. There were around 1-2 people who didn't speak. Also 2 moderators were present but did not participate in the discussion at all. Each GD was for 10–15 minutes, out of which 2 minutes was for thinking.

The GD very often started earlier. Some GDs were soft, but most were aggressive.

WAT was offline for IIM FABM. There around 15 minutes were provided to write the answers on a single notepad sheet and 5 minutes to think about the topic.

Pro Tips for GD: Look for pauses or trailing off in the speaker's tone, and that's when you make an entry in an aggressive GD. Think both for and against the topic, and pick a side after listening to the points made by others so that your points look unique.

Pro Tip for WAT: Keep your focus on the question asked at the end of the problem statement and don't go analysing the problem in detail, which might divert you from the topic.

Collegedunia Team: What was the WAT/GD Topic?

Aditya: Will cricket remain popular in the future? How can corporations leverage it?

How do you increase the sales of an existing product facing fierce competition with other products? (data like sales in a particular region, awareness and costs etc. were given).

Comparison within 2 products of a firm i.e. Whiskas and pedigree from mars, and where should the funds be directed?

Collegedunia Team: What was your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Aditya: My point included that cricket is continuously gaining popularity with new records being made and broken very often.

I said that being popular in certain regions, we should focus on increasing production and bundle pricing. Setting up manufacturing plants requires the allocation of funds.

Increasing numbers of pet owners demonstrate an increase in demand.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Aditya: The interviews were typically conducted by two panellists, one from HR and one from the industry. Interviews were conducted online, but some were conducted offline as well. Some interviews were as short as 10 minutes, and some went on even for half an hour. The interview with IIFT was a stressful one, they asked me a bunch of questions I couldn't answer (due to my fresher background and lack of knowledge of the industry) and then followed up with what will be your first steps after becoming the agricultural minister of India. I kept my composure and listed some of the problems being faced by the industry, along with remedies which i would implement as the Agricultural Minister

Pro Tip: - Freshers should focus on their background and learnings from undergrad. Try to  master all the HR questions based on them as those are the only questions asked from non - engineer freshers most of the time

Check IIFT Delhi Questions

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IIFT Delhi Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Aditya: The questions asked during the Interview are:

Ques1. Tell us about yourself?

Ans. I gave a prepared answer.

Ques2. Why MBA after BSc in agriculture?

Ans. The agriculture industry in India is very disoriented and needs to be directed as a whole, which I believe is possible after learning management through an MBA.

Ques3. Tell us about the three farm laws and the reason for their removal?

Ans. I described the laws and their removal, and gave my views on that proper consultation and awareness should have been paid attention to for consensus.

Ques4. What are your long term goals after doing MBA?

Ans. I also gave a prepared answer for this.

Ques5. Why should we select you or how can you contribute to the organisation?

Ans. I told them about my past achievements and assured them of my worth and importance through the learning from those achievements.

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Aditya: I selected IIFT as it was the best college available to me, mainly due to placement statistics. Also its location, i.e., South Delhi, would benefit me in getting the required exposure to business administrations and various corporations. The culture at IIFT Delhi is nothing like the other B schools, where people help others and the batch works efficiently through division of labour and a nurturing atmosphere.

Collegedunia Team: What was the reason for you not converting other colleges?

Aditya: I lacked practice in my HR answers in the initial processes and kept improving with more and more interviews. The best way to learn is through practice and lots of mock interviews.

Pro Tips: Search for any possible HR question, frame your answers for them and keep practising until you can speak it in front of anyone and everyone spontaneously.
