Ayushman Singh Ratnu Admission Experience

Did you avail of the benefit of any reservation?

Ayushman Singh Ratnu: “OBC”

Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any)?

Ayushman Singh Ratnu: “WAT process

It was done Offline. We got 15 minutes of time to write on the given topic. It was on a plane sheet you had to write according to you, before that 5 minutes of time was provided to us to think on the topic.

Pro tip- Strong your GK, it will help you to understand the topic and you will be able to write more appropriately.”

What was the WAT / GD Topic?

Ayushman Singh Ratnu: "Your views on CAA or NRC act.”

What were your answer/points put forward for the WAT or GD respectively?

Ayushman Singh Ratnu: “I support the “idea” of giving citizenship to persecuted minorities. I also think that every citizen should be registered and thus I support the idea of NRC too.

However, in the present scenario, I am opposing CAA and NRC. I will, however, limit this answer to CAA only. The CAA which the BJP has brought is based on two lies. First lie- the Hindu population in Pakistan has decreased from 23 per cent to 3 per cent.

The truth however is that the Hindu population in Pakistan has increased since independence. In the first post-independence census held in 1951, Hindus in Pakistan were 1.3% of the total population. Currently, they are around 1.7 per cent.

If you check Wikipedia, you will find the post-independence non-muslim population of Pakistan to be 3.44% (not 1.3% as I said above) of the total. Both are right. The keyword on Wikipedia is “non-muslim population” which includes Sikhs, Christians, Baudhdhs, etc. as well. The Hindu population has decreased in Bangladesh though. It was 22% in 1951 and currently, it is around 9% only.”
