How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

Improving students' relationships with teachers has important, positive and long-lasting implications for both students' academic and social development. Solely improving students' relationships with their teachers will not produce gains in achievement. However, those students who have close, positive and supportive relationships with their teachers will attain higher levels of achievement than those students with more conflict in their relationships.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

The most important factor for a practical and industry-oriented approach in engineering courses is, it builds a foundation that helps students in after-college life. Internships play important role in building this thought. It undertakes industrial consultancy works as a part of its interaction with industry and also organizes seminars/symposia for professional interaction.

  • Exposing students to technology early on in life helps build essential skills like self-reliance, group and teamwork, peer learning, interpersonal skills, and decisive decision making.

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated?

When writing a course, remember that this is not about writing the best lesson plan or developing a perfect set of classroom projects and assignments. Rather, it is about meeting the needs of students in a way that ensures that the material is understood, maintained, and applied in and out of the classroom. Find experienced professors and ask for their opinions on your course. It is important to schedule planned meetings and course time slots. It is also important to learn how to manage this time. When upgrading a course, don’t forget to establish an evaluation and feedback time.

Do you have any extracurricular activities to enhance the skills of the students?

“Extracurricular activities to help students maintain a balance in academic life”

Concentration is the key to excel in academics. However, a student cannot maintain a steady concentration for a prolonged period. He/she needs a break to restore the ability to concentrate and to retain knowledge. Furthermore, the sole focus on academics leads to boredom and may even burden the students. Here, extracurricular activities come into play. The activities act as a breather for the students and give them the much-needed break from the monotonous schedule.
