Prof. Bhupendra Patel is the HOD-Computer Science at Dr.Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology. He is a practitioner of practical knowledge and passes on the same practice to his students. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“Sharing knowledge with my faculty and students keeps me connected to education sector”
The main key factor is sharing knowledge and keeping myself up-to-date with current trends and technologies. Also, I like to share knowledge with students to update themselves from lectures and practice.
What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“It is essential to motivate team members and lead from the front”
As a Head of Department (HOD), leadership style would be equal with all staff members. Periodically, we have to encourage, motivate, and appreciate them to work with full dedication and get maximum output. Also, frequently arrange to meet with students and ask them if they have any problem during the study to solve their problem.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?
“There are multiple marketing factors we have to take under consideration”
Every year we have to do advertisements for our college but as per my point of view Digital Marketing is the best way to share college details among the people. As well as we have to create an image of our organization so students can do mouth publicity. Also frequently we post updated news on websites and whatsapp groups so they can be aware if they have any new updates from the institute. Also we share the different events in the newspaper.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?
“The curriculum is changed according to the current industry standards”
As our organization runs under the Gujarat Technological University (GTU), they change the curriculum as per current market requirements every three years. They are also adding project work so students can learn teamwork and be aware of the current technologies. Apart from the curriculum, we can arrange different activities so students can learn the necessary skills.
“The institute's top priority is more and more students get the bachelor's degree from our institute and placed in well-known companies, for that institute planning different centers of excellence that are helpful to students.”
What do you see as your institute's greatest strengths?
“My institute's greatest strengths are infrastructure and environment”
We have a significant infrastructure with a natural environment to quickly focus on study and get a good result. Also, we have a different center of Excellence to carry out projects on the current topic and try to solve social problems. Furthermore, we have a Hostel of around 100 students with all primary facilities. We have a wide range of sports facilities to spend time and take part in a state or zonal level championship.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“Students should focus on learning and progressing towards development”
Students have to focus on their career. We know the upcoming decade is an essential tool for developing an understanding of technology. Students have to select one specific domain and need to get specialization on that to be beneficial for him/her.
