AP EAMCET 2022: Minimum qualifying marks relaxed, Check evaluation method here

With the relaxation in the AP EAMCET 2022 , students will now be eligible for admission to the engineering and pharmacy programmes if they received 45% (or 40% for candidates from reserved categories) in PCM (physics, chemistry, and maths) or in all subjects in the intermediate first and second year exam.

According to an official announcement, all the candidates are informed that the minimum marks in the qualifying examination intermediate or equivalent for admissions into professional UG degrees in engineering and pharma-D courses has been relaxed as a one-time measure for the academic year 2022-2023 as per the instructions received from the government of higher education (EC) department.

As per the existing rule, Candidates must have received AP EAPCET 2022 result s and have passed the intermediate exam with 45% (or 40% for reserved categories) in PCM subjects in order to be considered for admission.

The notification revealed that the total marks of all the subjects in the intermediate (both 1st year and 2nd year) have not been considered for calculation of the % of marks.

The higher education government has, however, relaxed the criteria under which the percentage would be determined by taking into account the sum of all the scores earned across all subjects on the intermediate exams.

Students who have obtained 45% marks in group subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) subjects or the total marks of all subjects in the intermediate (both 1st year and 2nd year) or equivalent and obtained rank EAPCET 2022 are eligible for EAMCET or EAPCET admissions, the notification stated.

Alternatively, the overall marks for all subjects or just the second-year intermediate marks in PCM subjects will be taken into account for determining the percentage of marks. The marks of first year intermediate or equivalent will not be considered.

Therefore, the students who have received less than 45% (40% in the case of candidates from reserved categories) in the designated group subjects, whose certificates are automatically verified or verified at HLCs via online, and whose candidacy has already been rejected, are instructed to go to their nearest helpline centre for certificate verification in order to be considered eligible, the notification stated.
