- The MHSc equips students to take on leadership roles in the delivery of health services, systems, or research. There is also the option to specialize in Nutrition and Dietetics, which enables graduates to seek registration with the New Zealand Dietitians Board to practice as a dietitian in New Zealand.
- If students are interested in a career where they can contribute to areas such as health services, health systems, clinical practice, and research, the Master of Health Sciences is the ideal program for them.
- As well as the opportunity to research the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, students may also undertake this program at the University’s Liggins Institute.
- Students can choose between a Taught (120 and 240 points) and a Research Masters (120 and 240 points). If students have completed an undergraduate degree then they would normally enter a 240-point program.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- A Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of 5.0 is required.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a bachelor’s (3 years) degree.
- Or, completed a bachelor’s degree requiring 4-years of study from arecognized university.
Submission of IELTS scores is compulsory for this program, however, students may submit a PTE score too instead of that.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
