Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Applicant must have completed either:

  • A Bachelor of Science from this University, with a Grade Point Average of 4.5 or higher in 75 points above Stage II. 
  • A Bachelor of Science with a double major in Computer Science and Statistics from this University, with a Grade Point Average of 4.5 or higher in 75 points above Stage II.

English language requirements are:

  • An overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0 is required in IELTS (Academic).
  • An overall score of 90 and a writing score of 21 is required in Internet-based TOEFL (iBT).
  • An overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21 is required in Paper-based TOEFL.
  • A minimum grade of B- is required in the University of Auckland Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP), if students get admission through it.
  • A minimum grade of B- is required in the University of Auckland English Pathway for Postgraduate Studies (EPPS), if students get admission through it.
  • An overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50 is required in the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic. 

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed both a bachelor’s (3 years) degree.
  • Or, completed a bachelor’s degree requiring 4-years of study (e.g., B.Pharm., M.B.B.S., B.Tech., B.Eng., or B.Arch).

Submission of IELTS scores is compulsory for this program, however, students may submit a PTE score too instead of that.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Applying as a Study Abroad student (Certificate of Proficiency for Overseas) 

  • Study Abroad students must apply for a fee-paying student visa once they receive their offer of place from the University. Their offer letter should indicate their program as Certificate of Proficiency for Overseas (COPOS).

Applying as an Exchange student (Certificate of Proficiency for Exchange)

  • Exchange students must apply for an exchange student visa once they have received their offer of place from the University. Students must be nominated for exchange from one of the approved exchange partners and their offer letter should indicate their program as Certificate of Proficiency for Exchange (COPEX). 

  • Students must be able to support themselves financially for the duration of their stay.
