Didn't have any desire to go to the US since it is too standard. College of Groningen is positioned in the top 100 colleges of the world. Had the course of my examination advantages. The profession in energy is preferable In Europe rather than the USA.

Course Curriculum

8

The course is really good. The curriculum keeps on changing every year according to the current status quo. So according to me the syllabus is well structured and one can choose subjects of their interest and plan their academic path accordingly. It is basically designed for each student according to their interest.

Exams

They require a Statement of Purpose, 3 letters of recommendation, a TOEFL score (above 90), a GRE (not mandatory but good to have), a bachelor's mark sheet (above 7 would be great), and a Resume (1 page).

Placement

8

If a student is interested in research, then the University of Groningen is one of the best research universities. The equipment for research is really advanced and the laboratories are well equipped. Career fairs are organized every year for jobs and internships.

Internship

No, I didn't get an internship.

Events

Campus life is great. All kinds of activities are available and one can choose according to their interest. Tennis, squash, football, badminton and many other sports are accessible and can be played for only 40 Euros per year.

Fees

28 lakh is the cost of the program.

Scholarship

No, I didn't receive any scholarship.

Faculty

8

The faculty are all experienced teachers with excellent knowledge. There is no specific teacher to student ratio as the number of students in each course will be different. But it is quite low on average (1:30) and can be as low as (1:7). Also the average number of Indian students in a class is very less. There were only 3 Indians in my class of 30. My point is, it is more diverse and therefore can learn more with different experiences. Unlike the US where an average university will have 50 Indians.

Hostel

10

Student accommodation is readily available with shared rooms or private rooms. I was like a student accommodation with shared facilities. The rent was 400 Euro per month.
