For the purpose of enrolling qualified candidates in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officer Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy, the UPSC conducts CDS twice a year. For applicants without a background in science or mathematics, CDS has an OTA branch. To better prepare for the exam, candidates are suggested to continuously go through the previous year's paper. The applicants who pass the written test will receive calls for the SSB interview. There are two parts to this test: the written portion and the interview portion. The CDS exam is divided into three parts: written, interview, and medical, and candidates are selected using the results of each.
