The Combined Defence Services Examination (abbreviated as CDS Exam) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. For in the Indian Airforce a graduation or bachelor degree of engineering is must with Physics and Mathematics compulsory as subjects in 12th grade. The age criteria are different for each service is different. For the Indian army, it is 19-24, for the Indian Navy, it is 19-24. Officers recruited in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force through Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam are paid on the basis of their posts such as Lieutenant, Captain, Major, and others. The CDS salary comprises basic pay and allowances such as DA, high altitude allowance, uniform allowance, and others.
