M.Tech Information Technology is a 2-year postgraduate degree program that aims to provide both theoretical and practical knowledge on the advanced fundamental study of computer-based information systems. M.Tech. degree course covers the study of a variety of functions performed by IT engineers; right from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. The M.Tech degree topics generally cover the study of the three main areas of specialization in Information Technology namely network administration, computer support and programming. The M.Tech. programs in India are usually structured as an Engineering Research degree, lesser than Ph.D. M.Tech course is broad in nature covering all major areas of network administration, computer support and programming. Many elective subjects are made available to students to enable them to specialize in any of the major fields in IT studies such as in Human-Computer Interaction, Bioinformatics, Wireless Communication and Computing, Microelectronics, Robotics, Software Engineering and Intelligent Systems.
