Japanese is the most frequently spoken language in Japan, and it is divided into various dialects, with the Tokyo dialect being standard. Ryukyuan languages are spoken in Okinawa and parts of Kagoshima in the Ryukyu Islands, in addition to Japanese.

The Japanese language is written using three separate alphabets: hiragana, katakana, and kanji, which are distinguished by their appearances as well as their usage. It's no surprise that learning Japanese is difficult for English speakers! In Okinawa and the nearby Ryukyu islands, 14 Ryukyuan languages are spoken in addition to Japanese.

Understanding the Japanese language will allow students to gain a better understanding of Japanese culture, history, martial arts, entertainment, and fashion. Because it improves their communication and cognitive skills, learning Japanese will help them to  appreciate their own culture as well as their own language
