A graduate management program uses the Common Admission Test (CAT) as part of the admissions process. A verbal ability test, a reading comprehension test, a data interpretation test and a quantitative test are all included in the test. There are three sections to the exam, each lasting an hour. In 2020, the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam as a means of selecting students for their business administration programs (MBA or PGDM). Due to COVID precautions, the test is scheduled to last two hours with 40 minutes for each section. A rotation policy determines which IIM is responsible for conducting the test every year.
