Photo journalism is a special form of journalism (collecting, editing, and presenting news material for publication or broadcast) that uses pictures to tell a news story. Usually only still images are used today, but in some cases the term also refers to videos used in broadcast journalism. Photo journalism differs from other narrow branches of photography (e.g., documentary photography, social documentary photography, street photography, or celebrity photography) by adhering to a rigid ethical framework that requires the work to be both honest and impartial while the story is told in a strictly journalistic way becomes.
