The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a national competitive examination in India for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service, among other civil services. It is administered by the Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC test is divided into three stages: a preliminary exam, a major examination, and the Interviews Session, which is the last stage of the UPSC examination.

IAS aspirants who pass the UPSC Prelims with a score of at least 80% in General Studies Paper I and at least 33% in General Studies Paper II (CSAT) are eligible to attempt the UPSC Mains.
